I didn't really care for my Buzz either. Is her Bloog an automatic? The auto batteries work much better for me. The echo has a similar auto battery as the Bloog auto only bigger and the same type of carto only bigger.
That is great of you to help her and I hope she decides to try again. I really feel for your dilemma and wish there was something I could say or do to help her. It is the pitts when smoking finally catches up to you in old age.

Thanks all for the replies - sorry about my spelling - Yes I believe it's COPD that she has not OCPD :)

I know the juice doesn't taste like xyz brand but I know pall mall cigs taste different than marlboro lights, so was looking for something in that sense.

I'd love to give my mom the best e-cig, but for now it will have to be my old 510 ($$ is tight) and hopefully she can figure it out since we are in 2 different states and I won't be able to help her w/filling etc. I've tried to explain to her that it takes time, it's different than a cig, there is a learning curve etc. She's willing to give it a go - says she can't stand smoking, but she has tried everything to quit and seems to go back to it each time. She has an extremely addictivie personality apparently.

Hopefully we'll get it figured out, she'll be patient and we'll be a success story.

Thank you all for your well wishes!!!

Let her give it a go, you never know what the outcome will be.

As far as "addictive personality", I don't know about that, I kicked alcohol and drugs (26 years ago), and a four pot a day caffeine habit (five years ago) without a twitch.

Cigarettes, I too couldn't stand them any longer, however, I absolutely tried everything - gum, patches, behavior modification, and couldn't quit until I vaped. So be encouraging and supportive, you never know.

My mom also has COPD and Emphysema. She has smoked for 60+ years. She started vaping with me 1 year ago and lasted maybe 5-6 months. Sadly she is back on the cigs :-( I tried everything. I filled her cartos, got her supplies, etc. I am not trying to discourage you at all but they do have to want to quit or it may all be in vein. I wish you the very best of luck and commend you on your efforts :)

salem, I am so sorry. You can live with the knowledge that you did all you could do to help your mother quit. Hopefully she will give it a try again.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you Mom. I have to keep my Mom charged, cartos filled, etc. She gets very frustrated.

I am sure that she more than appreciates it, and you are giving her the ultimate gift by doing this for her. This vaping road is very frustrating, and we are up here in our "golden years" dealing with so many frustrating things. Even little things that I used to take in stride, now can frustrate the heck out of me.

Well, I smoked for 55 years and had developed COPD. The doctors had suggested my quitting for years, but I had never been willing or able to quit. Heard about e-cigs a few months back and decided to give them a try. I've only taken 2 puffs in the past three months. I can breathe so much easier and don't even think to use my inhaler most days. I thought that I'd want to stick to tobacco flavors, but now I want anything except the tobacco flavors! Hope she has good luck with the adventure.

Quick update ................
She loves it!!!!!!!
She hasn't bought a carton of cigarettes in over a week. I just ordered her an ego, more carts, cartomizers, and juice!!!! They should be delivered to her in a couple of days. I may need everyone's help on filling the joye cartomizers (I use boge and smoke tech)
She loves the Wyatt Earp from Freedom Smoke USA and they also sell something like Pall Mall - so I ordered her the sample pack that has the pall mall in it.

Thanks again for all the well wishes -

Turb Dog!!

Congratulations Dog! My next door neighbor and one of my fiance's best friends in in s similar position health-wise. Fortunately she can't wait to try vaping. I don't even have supplies for myself temporarily and money is tight but on my next trip to the US I will be bringing her back a kit to get her going. I know she will be a PITA with it and need my help with filling cartos and such but it will definitely be worth the trouble to see her health improve.

it sounds like you're writing about my mom lol.

i've been using an e-cig for about a year and she finally started expressing an interest in it. i picked her up an inexpensive cig2o 808 kit and some "regular/tobacco" flavored cartos. she seemed to enjoy it and now has me ordering various flavored cartos from vapor4life for her.

I just converted my dad over. He started expressing an interest and 2 weeks later he has gone from 1 1/2 packs of mboro lights a day to around 5 cigarettes a day. He has smoked for 48 years. I like the tobacco flavors, he's really liking the sweet flavors. Just hope he keeps it up !

I am so excited to hear this...Thank you so much for reporting back turbo...

Anytime - I'll report back once she gets the ego up and running - I think she will love it even that much more. She's only smoked 3 ananlogs today vs. the pack she'd already have smoked - so it's going good. She even tried Chantix and that didn't work.

That's funny about the flavors - I'll read her some names and she'll say "Ewww, Wyatt Earp - wasn't he........" (She loves this juice now btw) She can't seem to grasp it's just a name. So I started going over non tobacco flavors with her and I got "I'm not smoking a cheesecake, I wouldn't even know how to begin"................mentioned blueberry pancakes and she's all about that - even mentioned it again today. Before long she'll be vapping her meals - LOL

That's awesome squirrel - does he have any health issues? Is he feeling better? I personally haven't really noticed a significant improvement in my health, but I was an active smoker. Play sports, run, workout etc. I did have the nasty cold/expelling of mucus/tar effects though - glad that's over with.

No health issues. I haven' tried to push anything too hard with him. I'm just wanting him to take this at his own pace and so far he's really surprised me. I'm proud of him and like I said I hope he keeps it up ! Curiosity got the best of him,,,, but for the better

btw ,,, he's really liking the cheesecake !!!

About a year ago I bought my mom one of the envy brand e-cigs cause she seemed interested in switching and had talked to a coworker of hers that switched. Last time I went over to their house she was still puffing away on regulars. When I asked about it her response was that she'll get around to it sometime. It is still in the box not even smoked on at all as far as I know. I have to keep reminding myself that it won't happen unless she wants to quit regardless of what anyone tells her.
