So... just got a Janty eGo (Didn't know where else to post this because there's no forum for the eGo, and it uses 510 parts)...

Tried the regular carts.... Nicotine is just TOO STRONG for me. So those had to go. Tried dripping... and that goes too quick... plus I've flooded the atty.

Tried the PTB mod... and I'm still getting this burnt atty taste after a few hits.

I tried burning off the primer when I got it... but like... I don't know if that nasty burnt taste is a dry atty or the primer....

And why am I not seeing these huge blinding fog clouds like I see in all the video reviews?

I thought this thing is supposed to be the best ecig!

Do a search on the HighPing mod for your carts. That works pretty well for me.

As to the bad taste, if it's a hot metal taste, you are probably running the atty dry. Put a couple of drops of your juice right on the bridge, let it set for a min and see if that takes care of it. If it's still the primer taste try blowing out as much as you can, then clean the atty, be sure to let it dry completely, then drip a few drops on the bridge and try again.

One of my attys was very loaded up with primer and I ended up using plain PG, dripping on it and blowing it out a couple of times before I was able to get all of that taste out. A good bath in PGA or 151 rum helps clean them too. Some people have had real good success with the dry burn but I personally haven't tried that yet.

When switching flavors you often have to clean or the old flavor tends to hang around. I noticed that especially with the tobacco flavor that came with my original Joye 510. A quick cleaning took care of most of that.

How vapor shows up on a video is not the same as in reality. It often looks much thicker in the video. Relative PG vs VG content is also a factor in amounts of vapor. VG increases vapor, PG lowers it but increases TH.

The ego is a 3.1V device. So it is going to give the same wattage with a regular 510 atty as a regular batt does, since they are both 3.1V. The ego thus will give about the same vapor as a regular 510 batt. One can use a low resistance atty to get more wattage (roughly = heat), thus more vapor. The ego will last much longer than a regular 510 batt though.

There are new ego-like PVs out now that are 3.7V devices, such as the Hello, and these would give more wattage with the same atty compared to the ego.

"Best" is subjective, of course. I personally think that "best" is 3.7V with a 2.2 ohm atty. Best for me would not be a 3.1V PV, unless I could dial the wattage up by lowering the atty resistance to around 1.6 ohms.

A good equation to know is watts = volts*volts/ohms. Of course, a multimeter is needed to measure atty ohms. For some "best" is a 10 watt vape. For me its about a 6 watt vape.

I feel your pain with the eGo man. Im a first time vaper and I bought the eGo because of the review it got. Im not gettin a ton a vapor and its really irritating my throat and making me cough EVERYTIME I try to vape. Im thinking about ordering some PG/VG mixed juice to see if that helps. Im also gonna do the Highping cart mod to help keepin the atty wet.

Im not gettin any kind of nasty taste, its just the throat irritation im gettin that is bothering me.

We've resorted to dripping the thing.

The atomizer is finally broken in and it's giving an alright amount of vape. It only tastes burnt once the atty is dry. But other than that, it's been fine. I actually modded out a cart by taking out the filler, snapping off the top, and drilling it out straight through so we can just drip on the atomizer and not have to remove anything.

It's working pretty good. I dunno. I just hate dripping. It works. It tastes good. But having to do it all the time is a pain in the .....
