Trying to get the parents to switch

So I have been using my 510 for two months now and I love it. The entire time I've been using my e-cig my father has made jokingly made fun of me for it.

Well today he surprisingly asked me if he could try it out for himself. I gave him one of my 510's and let him give it a shot and he said it felt close enough to the real thing, but he didn't much like the strawberry flavor. In fact that was one of the things he made fun of, my "fruity flavors" while always throwing in the limp wrist action while saying it.

He smokes Marlboro's primarily, and he said he'd be willing to go for the switch if he can find a flavor that is close enough to that. So basically my question to you more experienced vapers...where can I find the best flavor closest to a Marlboro cigarette? My dad is stubborn and I think I may only get one shot at getting him to convert.

Try some of the Winston from Cignot. It tastes closest to the real thing to me, but everyone is different. I would get some samples for him to try. Also, don't be afraid of getting a "flavor" that isn't sweet and fruity, like coffee flavored stuff. One person I turned on to vaping didn't really like the sweet stuff OR the tobacco flavors, but loved the bitter stuff.

Fruity and unconventional flavors is one of the reasons I switched to vaping in the first place! I love them. I'd be sitting here smoking a dirt flavored cigarette and watching guys on youtube vaping bubblegum, york peppermint patty, boston cream pie and all that. It didn't take long for jealousy to kick in and cause me to buy my first 510.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question as I just received my first tobacco flavor today from totally wicked and haven't tried it yet. Maybe I'll bust it open in a bit and report back.

I know some people say that a lot of tobacco blends taste more like fresh tobacco leaves than an actual burning tobacco so I've been a little hesitant to order tobacco.

The fact that his interest was piqued off strawberry is a good sign. By the way, I am laughing picturing your dad doing the move Mr. Roper on Three's Company did about Jack, LOL!

Your dad's journey will be just like all of ours...trial and error.

I used to smoke Camel Lights, but none of the tobacco flavors really float my boat these days. I generally like strong flavors though, like mint, cinnamon, rum, along with some lighter ones.

Trial and error, but TastyVapor.us is great place to start...and chances are look no further.

A lot of people like Johnson Creek Tennessee cured. They have a nice sample pack
there are others too,
Just get a premium liquid and go for it is the best I can tell you.

I think your best bet it to buy a sample pack of tobacco favors..lots of suppliers have 3 pr 5 ml sample sizes to try in liquids. Fill 5 carts with various liquids and see what he thinks. Don't mention what they are!
A few have sample cartomisers in a 5 pack if that's what you use. My hubby has always smoked marl..but he thinks the marl from 4 different suppliers is too "pipeish". You may find your dad prefers kent , parlament, camel or maybe even a menthol tobacco.
It won't be the taste that throws him, it will be the fiddling with refills and charging ect. I recommend cartomizers..they hold more and the refills are easy. Maybe drip tip would work.
Make sure he understands that vaping and smoking are radically different. The way you inhale, the rush,and the "smoke".

Along with the tobaccos for him to try and the coffee mentioned above, get a mint, a vanilla, and a cinnamon. Those don't seem girly and he might really like them. I've been trying to get my dad to switch. He does use his now, but is still smoking. He first laughed at some of my juices, but he now asks me to fill his cartomizers with vanilla, Atomic Cinnacide, and peach! It's funny, I'll take my whole box down and spread them all out on the table for him to look at. He's slowly trying some different flavors. I got him to try some blueberry cheesecake yesterday. He chuckled about it, but I could see the wheels turning. I'm thinking next time he'll want a cartomizer full.

I think mini_art answers this nicely. I have read a lot of favorable posts on the Johnson Creek sample packs for flavor. However, I have also heard negative reports about their juices blowing attys out sooner than would be expected. The most favorable reviews on the JC line was on the Original Johnson Creek sampler pack, but not sure if the JC Tenn. cured is in that pack or not. I also agree with the other poster who said you should try him on a few flavors. Maybe go to Tasty Vapor and try the butter rum? Anyway, if you want to take a look, here is the link. Tasty Vapor. sweet...so many quick responses. I like the idea of a sampler. Probably best to have a few to try because even I disliked the first flavor I ordered.

As a 40 year smoker I am more in your Dad's camp than yours. I too was a Marlboro smoker. I tried the Marlboro flavors and they were okay, but 555 is what has left me most satisfied. It's really so personal. Just be tickled that he ask to try it, he opened the door, now you can help him by doing some of the legwork for him.

Interesting. I'm trying to get 2 of my children to switch to vaping, lol.

Anyhow, all good suggestions here. Might I also suggest a menthol/mint sampler. After 38 years my taste buds were pretty well fried, and the menthols & mints were the only thing that worked for me in the beginning...and I was never a menthol smoker.
