OK, So I have been vaping and cigarette free since April and I love it.

But, I have a friend I am trying to help get off the nails and they are really struggling with the whole vaping expierence. She likes the idea, but can't figure out the "right way to inhale" without coughing like crazy. I tried to explain it was kind of like french inhaling where you don't immediately inhale and kinda wait, but to no avail, she coughs every time.

Is there something different for women that I don't get?

I don't know if this helps any, but my fiancé has a similar problem. She was never able to get used to the throat hit, so she have up on it and quit the old fashioned way. You could try getting a juice with a higher VG level to try and minimize the TH and see if that helps. Also, try a lower nicotine level, if possible.

Trying a 50/50 mixture this weekend, not sure the lower NIC is going to work as she is a two pack a day smoker, and my current strength is a 12mg mix. The higher VG lower PG may be the ticket, of the juices I got now, the one that is 60/40 of PG/VG was the best for her so far. I tried to explain that it was NOT the same as inhaling a cigarette and that it takes a bit to get it "right". Perhaps she will eventually get it, I hope so, it would be nice to say I helpped a friend quit.

I also coughed while trying my wifes PV a few months back, brushed it off and kept smoking. I really wanted to give it another dedicated go and quickly adapted to vaping by taking slower draws instead of hitting it like a cigarette, I pretty much had to retrain myself. Ive been cig free now for around 40 days and no looking back.

Tell them to have patience and keep trying they will eventually get there and hopefully get off the cigs for good. Welcome to ECF and Happy Vaping!

I was lucky. What everyone describes as the proper way to inhale vapor is the same way I smoked cigarettes for over 40 years...so it was easy for me.

You did not say what device you are using or what juice or volts and ohms...so I'm guessing here. If you are using a top coil, try a bottom coil...a bcc uses more air and is cooler than a top coil device...find something airy like a T3. If your liquid is high pg, try more vg. If you are using high volts or low ohms, try lower volts or higher ohms. All of these may cool or smooth out the vapor.

If your friend is just after the nic but not the throat hit, remember that nicotine can be absorbed in the mouth and nose...it does not have to be inhaled.

    That's all I got...good luck.

She did like the lower wattage hit one can achieve from my Kafun on a regulated Vamo V5, but she is not able to build the coils, I guess I could build her a bunch and send them to her? Perhaps that is the way to go, buy her an iTaste MVP and build some coils???

Anyone got some hints on building some easy to install coils pre-loaded with a wick that works?

Or better yet, got any off the shelf stuff that is close to a Kayfun Russian clone? That would really be the way to go...

Grimwald, I gave her a Protank 3 on top of a Foos 1300 mah unregulated battery. I also have the Kayfun Russian clone and I use two regulated mods, iTaste MVP and a Vamo V5. She did like the lower wattages (5 to 8 watts) on most flavors, but wouldn't let my buy her one of those because of the price.

Perhaps I should just get her the lower cost option of the MVP and not ask. Any suggestions on which tank atomizer that doesn't require coil building that works well and is close to the expierence of the Kayfun?
