I smoked since I was 18 and finally quit in the past 5 years, I'm now 40.
my wife has not been able to quit. She has cut down but has not been able to give it up. I only recently discovered ecigs and have been doing as much research as possible for her. I figure once I understands this for myself, I can introduce it to her.

So, I went with Ovale emini kit. It looks like it is their latest line. It is a leap of faith on the product being new (not many reviews yet), but I liked the size and the pcc that comes with it. I got some random eliquids from them to start. Golden shara (low and med levels of nic). I also got a 0% nicotine liquid (italian vanilla) for myself to test this kit out. I figured I have been away from nicotine for so long, I don't want to get pulled back in. :)

anyway, long first post, sorry. Just wanted to introduce myself.

Thanks

Welcome to ECF. I havent heard of the PV you are trying I use the EGOS and I love them. generally vapeing is recommended for smokers rather than non smokers. Wouldnt it be better to give the e cigs to your wife directly if she is wanting to quit anologes? They are quite a personal choice and what may work for one person isnt always what another person enjoys in vapeing. Flavours are so different and I know that I like some which others might hate. There is plently of info here Im sure you could introduce her to the forum and you could help her that way. Good luck to you both :vapor:

I like a post that gives me something to read, not too long at all. Congrats on the effort for your wife, and quitting yourself. The kit you choose is definitely a looker. I understand you are using zero nic for yourself because you don't smoke. I just wanna say to be careful with the oral fixation. For me smoking is an oral fixation and the nicotine. I sucked my thumb as a kid, chew toothpicks, etc. I wouldn't want my mind to start enjoying the motions too much. However, I have an addictive personality, it may mean nothing to you, plus five years is a long time. The kit you got seems to have the ease-of-use down. I vape with all the crazy stuff, but I am very interested in what makes a good first e cig. If this doesn't work out for her, send me a message. I have been finding things for my own wife to use, since she doesn't want all the stuff I have, we can share research. Good luck

It is a sweet looking setup. I'm hoping that it will lore her in a bit :)

Trust me, if I am out (which is rare these days) and have a cocktail, I'm still looking for that oral fixation. Once in a blue moon ill have a cigar, but for those rare times perhaps a vape would go just as well with a scotch. We shall see :)

You may also want to get some high nic specially if she is a heavy smoker

Also let her know that she doesn't have to quit right away. Some of us do, and some have to mix vaping in with smoking, and gradually cut them off. I smoked and vaped for a week before I was able to totally cut off smoking.

And welcome to the forum :) A lot of help is here, just ask :)

100% agree on that. How long have you been tobacco free?

Thank you for the welcome everyone. I look forward to this experience.

I've been tobacco free for 42 days. My last smoke was on the opening kickoff of the Monday Night football game, opening week (Raiders game...we suck) If you buy juice from places that let you choose different nic strengths, you should probably start her on 18mg, and then you can adjust up or down. I smoked Camel filters, almost a pack a day, for 23 yrs. Hopefully after the holidays I'll cut down to 12mg.

That is a sexy looking e-cig setup. I hope she likes it enough to give it a good try. I started with the lil disposables that you can get at the gas station, and smoked them "in between packs" of ciggies. By the time I hit my quit date of June.15, I had a couple of the rechargeable kits that the gas stations also sold. TBH, they were very frustrating to me as the 90-100mAh battery just doesn't last long. I ended up with 2 of them and that wouldn't last me through the day. Hopefully that charger pack/case will help you with this issue. In the end, I went with an ego-t 18650 clone and couldn't be happier. It's battery lasts me 4 days and the CE4 type cartomizer lasts me 2 days on a fill, so a lot less bother...

Good Luck in her "quitment of the stinkies" !!!

Thanks! The battery life is not going to be great, but I knew that going into this setup. But I wanted the smaller form factor for her first go at this. I figured it comes with two units. So, have one loaded to go while the other chargers. We will see

Thank you. You are right, I will give directly to her to use. I just wanted to get it setup for her ahead of time. Test the waters I guess was my thought.

I think that's kind of sweet. :) And congrats to you for successfully quitting! Only thing I would say is to let her ease into it and enjoy it for awhile, no pressure to quit. A lot of people decide pretty quickly that the vape is better and they just don't want cigs anymore. Took me about 3 weeks, haven't looked back. My friend decided on day one, but hey, we can't all be perfect like he is. :p

Good luck!

Welcome to ECF. Did your wife request your help or did you decide that it was time for her to quit cigarettes for vaping all on your own? If it's the latter, you may not get the reception you are anticipating for your surprise.

If your wife is on board with vaping the most important thing is to find flavors that she likes which can often be no small challenge. This thread has a few of the sellers that offer juice sample sizes, Sample Packs - A listing for those seeking a favorite juice.

Also, you can find a list of juice seller's ranked by popularity in post #1489 in the Top 5 vendors (e-liquid) thread.

She wants to quit, so I'm just trying to find a method that may help her. :)

She has no idea what vaping is yet. I thought I would introduce it to her slowly. YouTube review, then show her the device and let her take it for a spin at her own speed.

Thank you for the links!
