I had a friend that introduced me to to more advanced ecigs about 3 months and to this forum after he found out I was buying disposables at gas station. I started with disposables I think njoy and eblue I used for several weeks. He told me to get an ego-c if I wanted to save some money. I did that and have been passively been reading these forums for past few months but this is my first post. I own a Vamo V3 and have enjoyed it the most. It took maybe a month to get it delivered which was the biggest downside.

If I'm looking to make another step forward; what is the next step? I'm not sure what I'm looking for though. The Vamo V3 satisfied my recharging experience. I can make an 18650 battery last a day and have 4 batteries. Ego-c was good but had to recharge every 4-10 hours. I also like the heat/power increase think it's called variable voltage and wattage but I don't really use that feature too much.

I'm not sure if I'm looking for something to give me more vapor or a juice that I can enjoy all the time; so really have no idea what next step is. I've tried different flavors and have even began mixing some of them into the same tank.

My friend is still on ego's but from some reason I think I need to make another step forward so he doesn't have much advice as to the next step. He seems to be satisfied but I'm still struggling a bit. I'm on 24 mg/ml for juice and I think most of it is 50 pg and 50 vg.

I've slightly read up on mech mods, RBA, and DIY but that just seems way too complicated at the moment. (Hope I got my acronyms right). So what am I missing as a 3 month beginner to make this work?

MVP is something to consider if you are looking for even longer time between battery charges. It has a powerful built-in battery that lasts 2 - 3 days per charge. It can be used while taking a charge. You can even charge your cell phone or iPod with it.

It's durably built, pocket-friendly. Has both ego and 510 connections. Variable voltage. The chipset is actually similar to the one used in the Provari. No extra batteries or charger to buy. Comes with the charging cord and iClear clearomizers.

Hello and welcome to ecf

You could try this
Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape

and add a protank II. Totally makes the flavors of the ejuice really pop.

:)

Can I use my current 18650 batteries? I only got 4 but main reason I bought the vamo v3 was because of replaceable batteries. I didn't like the idea of throwing my ego's in trash after battery wouldn't recharge. 2 ego's that came with starter kit still charge just fine but heard when the die only option is to throw in trash.

I still use them from time to time so not a complete waste of money. My friend had one last 3 months and another last about year. Maybe a disposable market but like the idea of being able to replace battery. Nice price for 40$ and maybe should have gone that route before my ego's. I think my ego-c starter kit was $70. Does it give more vapor than ego or vamo?

I'm not sure if I'm looking for battery charge any more. One day is good for me and if I got 3 charged 18650's that seems to be enough for charge length. As stated I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Something to take me next step and not smoke cigs on weekeneds is what I really want but not sure if that is the device, the juice, or whatever.

Comes with its own internal 2600 mah battery. And it is always good to have a backup, just in case. In my case, I charge it maybe every 2-3 days.
It does come with an I clear 30 clearomizer made from Innokin(same as battery) but I had no luck with them. Leaking, and dry hits. That is why I suggested the Protank II.
This will give you a much better vape than what you are used to. Can use vv or vw. Always start on the lowest setting and dial up from there. It has a 3 click on/off. Comes in the off mode when shipped. I always charge mine after turning it off. The green light will stay on continually until fully charged then turns off.
This is not a disposable battery. Just an alternative.

Welcome to the ECF neighborhood Ishknock,
Vamo should be a good Mod, IMHO I would start checking out the VV/VW settings with better tanks.
Sugar pointed out the ProTankII as a next step,
and different vendors for ejuice should be a major next step.
Ya got a good Mod, and are enjoying it....check out new tanks, new pluid next.....:2c:

The MVP has its own built-in battery. You can't remove it. You use a charging cord not unlike an eGo batteries charging cord. USB connector.

It doesn't make more vapor, but the "quality" of the vapor should be more noticeable. It has a chipset similar to the Provari, a high end mod.

I also think trying some other types of tanks could prove fruitful for a more enjoyable vape. Clearomizers: Innokin iClear 30 & Kanger Protank, both excellent clearomizers. There's also cartotanks, which uses an entirely different wick system from the clearomizers for better flavor.

To me, a good juice is the key to happiness. Unfortunately, finding that juice can involve a bit of trial and error. I ordered sample packs from a few vendors and found some I really like and others that I'll give away. I change flavors multiple times during the day, it seems to keep my taste buds interested. Also, drinking water seems to help keep the flavor tasting fresh. What have you tried and what did you like?

What great questions you ask! I am purty new myself, and what happened with me, I tried one NJoy and didn't like the draw at all, too much work/sucking not enuf vapor/satisfaction then moved up to (thanks to recommendations on this forum) a EVOD starter kit (if I'd known then what I know now, I'd have skipped that step). Within a week that wasn't as satisfying. I KNEW that I liked the flavor of the juice/liquid I had, but I wasn't getting the "performance" I wanted from the equip.

I think these are the kinds of questions you want to ask yourself. Do I like my juices/liquids pretty much? What IS it I don't like about the equipment? Is it the constant battery charging only? If it wasn't for that, would you stick with the ones you have now? That stuff will help you figure your next step. Mine was to an ego twist and then two spinners (I was still hung up on "size" -- a "little bit bigger" was okay, but I thought I wouldn't want a "big PV/mod"). Got a iTaste SVD pretty damn quick. Now I was happy with performance and began seeking "a perfect juice flavor".

See if you can figure really WHAT you are looking for, bigger battery for more run time? Variable voltage/wattage? A better draw, more vapor? Or just begining to enjoy the "hobby" aspect of it, fooling around with the equip, the liquid etc. Those answers will guide you. Glad you enjoy it! Just get it perfect for YOU (everyone's different, some people are fine with a cig-alike, some not, etc).

I agree with the others about getting a protank. Protank and other similar tanks/ cartos is what did it for me.

You sound apprehensive about DIY rda type stuff but it may be what does it for you. I have always done DIY liquid and love how I can quickly customize for my mood.

As far as mechs and rdas that's what pushed it over the top for hubby. You don't have to sub ohm and I'd recommend even if you want to try to sub always start with ohms over 1 that will fire on your vamo. Once you are comfortable and educated move from there. I ended up with rda as well but use them on my evic very happily.

I think I'm happy with battery life as I'm getting a day vaping off of one 18650 battery and have 4 of those. I think I'm happy with variable voltage and variable wattage although I don't use it much. I adjust things slightly by a few button pushes but really it just makes my throat hurt if I up it too much. I think I'm looking for more vapor but less throat hit. Maybe it's just the you-tube clouds that I see that make me think I'm missing out on something.

I may be looking for different flavor as well. I've tried a few sampler packs but am not really happy with any of the tobacco flavors. Cherry, Vanallia, and Caramel are starting to grow on me but still feel I'm missing something.

I'll have to give a few of the tanks you guys suggested but isn't that just a holder for the juice? Does that really altar flavor/vaping experience?

As for the RBA, DIY, Mechs, etc I may give that a chance I just don't think I want that much involvement. I want to buy a pack of cigs and smoke them not figure out how to roll them, keep them at right humidity, etc. I hope analogy is comprehensible.

I still smoke about 5 cigs a week which is very drastic cut down from 2 packs a day. I just feel like I'm missing something to get me off of them completely that so many here are touting success that I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Even my friend on ego's hasn't smoked in months.

I don't want to feel like I'm failing as I've made a very good and drastic improvement; I'm just wondering if there is something else I'm doing wrong or could try as so many here tout no cigs at all.

Maybe it's just a mind game with 5 cigs or so a week. Sometimes I have one at night sometimes none and sometimes 2-3 on weekends. I'm not complaining as 2 packs a day to 5 cigs a week is very good improvement but I figured after several months I would have kicked it like the rest of you.

If it is just the tank you are after the Protank II is the one.

:)

Any links so I know I for sure what I'm getting. With cigs there where maybe 3 popular brands with light/blue, medium, heavy/red variations. With this stuff it seems like they make 20 models for everything. I have 2 ego-c's and 1 vamo v3. I think 510 compatible is what they call them. Again not sure a tank will make a difference but willing to give it a shot.

It sometime takes a bit longer for some to completely kick the cigs. Cutting the number from 40 to 5 is great progress, you may need a bit stronger nicotine level at times when you want to reach for a cigarette. If you're getting good vapor production the next step is the nic level and the flavors.

Flavors are the toughest part, everyone has different tastes, and your own taste buds will change as they recover from smoking. The flavors I loved starting out I no longer vape at all. Others I didn't think I'd like, grew on me. Try a bunch on sample bottles 5mL size and don't throw your rejects out, in 6 months they may be your favorites...
