Most people that I have talked to have reported that they have started at 24-28 mg/ml.
This is what I started at and it has been fine for me. I used to smoke 1/2 pack a day, so you may need to up the dosage a little at first.

Just a little bit of unsolicited advice, you WILL want to get a hold of several different blends and strengths to start out. Finding your particular flavor is pretty much the most important part of falling in love with vaping. You don't necessarily need higher strength, you'll just end up vaping more to reach the point of satiety.

In case you were wondering what the upper limit of mg/ml is, 38-48mg/ml is what STRONG is considered although I have personally tried 50mg/ml while doing a DIY mix. People have reported vaping a drop or two of 100mg/ml but I haven't heard anyone say they particularly enjoyed it, 50mg/ml usually results in a large headache after several puffs.

So to put everything in a nutshell, your personal preferences in taste are of greater importance than anything, as such you should budget for experimentation.
My personal advice is to start at or around 20-30 mg/ml and have a extra spare CHARGED battery around at all times in the event that your personal nicotine need outweighs the batteries ability to feed it.
You'll soon find your groove.

GL and happy vaping,

-Dee

I started with the Joye basic but it tasted so awful and was too strong. I smoked a pack a day Virginia Slim lights. It was so bad I wrote them asking if I could return it, figuring I'd just have to cold turkey analogues. Vicky at Cignot recommended 18 mg English toffee (they don't give refunds unless the product is damaged but she sent that for free and offered to allow a return if it didn't work) and I've been hooked ever since. Just enough nic for a good hit and the flavor is lovely and smooth. Not to mention Cignot has got to be far and above the best online retailer I've ever dealt with, e cigs or otherwise. 8 thumbs up!

I was also a pack to pack and a half a day Lights smoker. In my initial order i bought carts in 18 and 24mg. The 24 are way to strong for me. Im fine on the 18s, but im already planning to step down with my next order because i find that i get a headache at the end of the day when i mindlessly chain vape.

My husband, an over a pack a day smoker of a roll your own was convinced that he needed the 36 because his brand was pretty strong, but he has found that he can only do a few puffs at 36 for a quick nicotine fix, and then he prefers to use an 18. My point...try all different levels and flavors...because what you think will appeal to you may be much different than what you actually like!
