Depending on where you are in Ohio, there are a ton of good shops to choose from where you can go and try out a lot of flavors before you buy. I'm in the Cincinnati area and we have (let me count... I lost count...) more than 10 good shops in the area. I know Dayton has quite a few as well.

I think visiting a tasting bar is one of the best ways to find flavors you like. You don't have to continue to buy them locally once you find one you like, but it's nice to be able to run out and get your favorite in a pinch.

If you are in the cinci area, you can take a look at our Facebook page (Tri-state Vapers). I know there is a Dayton group as well (Dayton Vaper's Club). Each group will be able to give you info about shops in those areas.

Hello and welcome. It's hard to judge just how much liquid any individual will vape, but average use is in the 2 to 5 ml a day range.

I've never used blu, but my understanding is that Johnson's Creek makes their juice, so they might sell the exact same liquid. Maybe someone else could be more specific about that.

While it is true that Johnson Creek does make the liquid for Blu, it is a proprietary blend that is only sold to Blu. I started out using Blu before they were bought out by Lorillard and was quite happy with it for over a year. Then after the buyout the quality seemed to take a nosedive and so I moved on to a different device.

I liked the cherry crush flavor and after switching to an eGo-C twist and Kanger T-3 I tried finding a similar flavor to no avail, so I got into DIY and tried to make it myself. Still trying to replicate it almost a year later.... Though I have come across a flavor from Flavor West that is really close and it too is called Cherry Crush. Hmmm makes me wonder...

Many beginners start vaping with tobacco flavors only to find that they really don't taste like a cigarette. Nothing tastes like a cigarette except a cigarette.

As others have already stated. Halo has some good juices. They were the second vendor I ordered from. I ordered two sample packs. One was the tobacco pack that contained Turkish Tobacco, Tribecca and Midnight Apple among others. Turkish Tobacco is OK but what I really like is Tribeca. It has a sweet aftertaste similar to chocolate or caramel. Midnight Apple is very good also.

I find that I now prefer the fruit flavors more and I mostly order from Mt. Baker Vapor.

By the end of my smoking, I only smoked Clint, Al Capone, Philly blunts, and Acid cigars. All of which have sweet/chocolate/candy-like flavors to cover the tobacco. Needless to say, I _never_ found a juice to equal those. I ended up going with candy/fruit/dessert flavors 24/7 with 36mg nic to get me more hooked on the e-cig than the tobacco. Well, it worked! Nearly a year later I'm down to 10mg strength and ready to drop down to 8 soon.

Welcome to ECF!

I too thought that I wanted a marlboro medium flavor. After trying a couple other flavors I stopped using that flavor very quickly. I still have some left in both of those 2 bottles that I purchased. My ADV is Cappuccino now.

I'll also mention that when I first started, I had 3 full packs of marlboro mediums. I was a PAD smoker for 38 years. I was vaping all the time and smoking here and there. It ended up taking me almost 2 weeks to finish off those 3 packs. By the time I got down to the last couple of analogs I caught myself hitting them the way I was now vaping. Not only that but boy oh boy did they ever taste like crap.

Oh, two things. First start at 1.8% and don't down nic yourself thinking this will help you quit faster. No workey. Most people get a kick back and you'll get cravings that'll likely have you back up there or even consuming a higher nic level from which its harder to come down. Start a bit higher and gradually work down after several weeks. A little vg measured carefully (a good 3ml syringe will help) with your adjustment over the course of several weeks should have you down to say 1.6%. Don't push it. Enjoy the vape and get comfortable with it before you push the next drop. This slow process will get you there.

I agree with this. When I first started I bought a 10ml bottle of RY4 with 18mg of nicotine and another with 24mg. I started with the 18mg but quickly realized that it just wasn't doing it for me. I then went to the 24mg and bam! Sweet spot for me. After about 2 weeks, I realized that I was getting nicotine OD (headaches) so I dropped down to 18mg. And again about 2 weeks after that I was getting the headaches again so I have recently dropped down to 12mg.

Best of luck to you on your journey to quit the analogs. Stick with it and come here for all of your questions and even support if you need it.

Worrying about a ban on e-cigs or only allowing BT only e-cigs is one of those black helicopter/tinfoil hat games. Especially since it is crazy simple to extract nicotine from cigarettes.

...................................

And this attitude is exactly why vaping will be regulated out of existence except for Big Tobacco's cig-a-likes in sealed carts. Suggesting that we have nothing to fear because millions will be able and willing to extract nicotine from tobacco that will be safe to use in vaping, is just plain ignorant as well as dangerous. You have no clue what the FDA's Deeming regulations state and your apathetic "not my problem" attitude is exactly what Senators Harkin, Durbin, Boxer, etc, Big Tobacco and Big Pharm are counting on.

There is a reason why there are hundreds of posts on this real danger, referencing very intelligent, experienced and informed experts with Phd's & MD's warning all vapers that vaping as we know will be regulated out of existence.

So I guess we have a choice: heed the advice of experts in the fields of tobacco control and join intelligent vapers concerned with these regulations or follow the "don't worry" advice of someone who knows how to find illegal substances in the back allies of Baltimore.

Laughable

Kit finally arrived in the mail today, was pretty excited to try it out until I realized it takes 8 hours for the initial charge.

Thanks for the advice everyone has given me so far, I have a lot of stuff to look up as far as flavors and everything go.

I guess my next question is while I'm waiting for my battery to charge should I let my juice steep with the cap off?

I've read a lot about steeping helping the flavoring of the juices.

Although it is recommended to let the battery charge for 8 hours, After the blue light comes on, I have never done that. ,Seems to be OK for me. I did initially use it for 20-30 minutes and then put it back on the charger.

So if you need to let it charge fully and let it sit for an hour or 2 then start using it. The sooner you get off the cigarettes the better.

What is the worst that can happen? The battery fails prematurely? Instead of lasting 1+/- years it dies at 6 months. By then you will have other gear to use.

Does it need steeping?
If so you can just loosen the cap; alcohol based flavors need time for the alcohol to evoporate.

I'll try that on my second battery, I'm currently at work so the 8 hour charge on the first one will be done when my shift is over.

Can't wait to get home and try it.

Sorry to say this but I must.
The only way any personal vaporizer will work for you to quit cigarettes is IF "You" are ready to give them up.

I would of liked to give them up about a year ago and tried, Cold Turkey (Yeah Right), Gum and the lozenges. Nothing worked. I came to think I would never be able to quit.

That is until I Tried vaping.

So if you are set on giving up cigarettes the Halo G6 will work for you until "You" decide you want something more.

I still smoked for about a week after I got the G6 kit. But the last cigarette I smoked tasted bad and I asked myself what the ^&%$ am I doing. Haven't had one since and in all honesty do not have any desire for one.

So good luck to you. I hope the Halo stuff works for you to get off cigarettes completely.

Haven't gotten to try the juice yet. I ordered Turkish halo juice and didn't know if it needed steeping or not. Just left the cap off of the bottle when I went to work to try to steep it

If you are home Fire that bad boy up and throw the smokes away. Steep, No Steep that is the question? Does it matter? Just start vaping.

I was a 1.5 pack a day smoker (full flavor), like you I had a mod and the tank that came with it and some plain jane e-juice.

It wasn't until I discovered true NETS that I was able to quit easy peasy. Nets are full of real tobacco! I also had to bump up to 24 mg. It was Vaperites' YR4 and Highbrows's VR4 that made me want to vape instead of smoke, that was Good Friday and I rarely get the urge.

Ah yes, try the tobacco flavors from Velvet Cloud Vapor, Blue Beard Tobacco is un real and nothing like you find at a local vape shop, more tobacco than blueberry, its almost pipe like. Then try their other tobacco flavors, trust me. They have a sale going on now! 25% off. It helped me quit, i also gave up due to local PG died flavored crap from the local shops!!!! The velvet is as real as it gets!!!!

Hello Tindomul, congrats on the decision to give vaping another try. Like others, I went through the cigalike phase, felt defeated, went back to smoking the real ones then found vaping again. I have a mech mod for home and the G6 for when I'm out and about and at work. I got the G6 mini tanks with the automatic battery, in fact 7 mini tanks because I like to change my flavours up, and 2 batteries.
For me, I decided to stay away from the tobacco tasting flavours mainly because I didn't want to have the feeling I was missing out. If I had a "real' cig, it tasted like crap, I prefer my fruity tasting vape. My hubby on the other hand loves the tobacco flavours, but still has not quite managed to kick the cigs to the curb yet.
Good luck to you, and enjoy your vaping journey, this forum is the best around with lots of great folks here who are more than willing to help and mentor you. There is also some great reading to be had too on some of the older and not so old threads. :)
