So i have tons of questions and i wanted to reach out to what seems like a knowledgable community of vapers. Tomorrow i will be receiving my knew device. I am a pack a day smoker(marlboro menthol) looking forward to quitting. I ordered a starter kit last week without doing any research. I have learned so much in the last week that when i receive my new device, i will probably be returning it. I ordered the vaporzone pro kit and realized that over payed for an evod 650 mah kit. I went along and ordered the aspire nautilus but i want a better ego/mod to run it on. Any suggestions. I am open to everything because i am just starting out. I hope this community can help me stop smoking once and for all.

dsand94, you will probably discover that while you are playing with and getting used to your new ecig, your cigarette consumption with drop dramatically the first week (without even trying). Don't make a big deal out of the need to quit. Take a while and vape regularly. Once you master the hardware and juice and fall into the routine of vaping you will spend more time vaping and less time thinking about cigarettes.

Once you decide to quit you will probably find that it's not really hard at all as long as you have the ecig to provide a level of nicotine replacement. Once you decide to quit, use the ecig to ward off any desires you feel to smoke. When the cigarette urge hits, grab your ecig and puff heartily. The desire will go away.

I hung on to the last half a dozen cigs a day for a long time. When I finally decided not to buy another pack, it was pretty much a non-event. I smoked my last one and never had another craving that my ecig couldn't cure. After the first day or two, it was like I never smoked.

There are lots of stories here like mine.

Great community here to get all the information one could possibly need. I only started vaping on April 1st and was surprised at how easily I was able to give up the cigs. Granted I have not gone without having analogs (cigs), I have a horrible desire for them if I go have a couple drinks with some friends. But where on those occasions I would normally smoke like a chimney I notice I'll only smoke two or three analogs over the course of a whole evening out...for me that is a complete change. Aside from those moments I have been able to refrain from analogs although I notice there are days I vape a few puffs and I'm good for a bit and then there are times I get home and my mod doesn't leave my side til I go to sleep.

Good luck on your journey to stop smoking!

Dont pressure yourself to stop smoking. Just choose the pv instead of the cig when the urge strikes. Also use your pv during those times you always smoked I.e. driving, after eating, waking up. Its all about habit change.

You started off with a goood choice in nic levels. Good luck and let us know how youre doing!

While I was still smoking those after meal (or with coffee) cigarettes before I finally quit, I'd vape and smoke at the same time. I'd take a hit off the cigarette, blow it out, and then take a hit off my ecig. What I discovered was that the cigarette tasted nasty and the ecig tasted good. Once I got that idea embedded in my brain, it was easy to quit the one that tasted nasty. I think it's as much mental as it is physical. You think you need cigarettes until you do the side by side comparison.

The ecig will supply enough nic. You just have to hit it harder when the cigarette urge strikes. It really will go away it you do that. I needed 24mg juice to get me off cigs. Now, I'm vaping in the 8mg to 11mg range and working my way down.

The other part of my quitting was also mental. I promised myself that I would quit, but still smoke two with coffee in the morning and one after each meal. I also allowed myself one before bed. I went from 2PAD down to 6 immediately. I did that for a while to let my body adjust to the lowered intake before starting the side by side smoking and vaping I described above. The fewer cigs you are smoking, the easier it is to quit.

Good luck quitting, I am in the same situation and one of the best advice I read was to go out and buy the worst tasting cigarettes you can find, at least buy a very low nicotine pack and smoke it for a couple of days, once you start vaping you will find that it tastes much better than that awful cigarette you were smoking for a couple of days.

i started vaping march 28th.
i had already decided to embrace vaping before i bought my 1st kit. no one around me vapes and i had never seen it in the "wild". i just did my research and decided that my nicotine would now come in this form WITH FLAVOR!

i smoked 30-35 analogs a day and enjoyed them. they were my " peaceful" moments at work ect. i had 2 cigarettes the evening i started vaping and 1 the next day. i started with an evod kit ( 2 650's 2 clearo's and a charger) i still have the lefttover pack in the glovebox of my car and have NO interest in having one.

i have since upgraded my kit about 3 times in search of more flavor and more vapor but can still fall back on the evod's for a quick fix.

what it really boiled down to me is i am getting the craving satisfied with vaping and the flavor and fun of the vapor cloud are all added bonuses.

i do see a lot of people starting with 24mg juices. i started with an 18 and have since moved down to 6-12 but i vape a lot . chainvaping sometimes. i would suggest starting with an 18 and moving up to a 24 if absolutely necessary to curb the urge. 24's can be quite harsh and put you off your juice ( let alone the dreaded nic OD).

i decided to avoid all tobacco flavors as i wanted to distance myself from the whole concept of smoking and i feel it has helped me.

in order of price
- itaste vv v3 (about $20) passthrough battery
- itaste mvp2 (about $40) high capacity passthrough battery - best bang for the buck in batteries - Recommeded.
- vamo v5 + batteries and charger (about $50) easy to use tube mod.

Good luck on your journey!!! You might find out that it is easier than you ever tought possible :). I was a2pd smoker and picked vaping back up few weeks ago. Ciggys taste nasty now.. And switching to higher level juice 18-24 when urge hits and in the mornings for few first vapes does wonders for me and seem to even satisfy cravings better now than cigs do. Most other time i vape 6 mg.. On occation 12 as i really enjoy me tasty clouds and the hand to mouth part of smoking gets taken care of :)

Also hanging out here in ecf with the great folks is awesome. Might be more addicted to that than smoking...

The MVP 2 would be a great, reasonably-priced choice to pair with your Nautilus. The VV/VW feature will allow you to easily adjust the warmth of your vape for what works best for you. It has a long battery life as well as having pass-through capability so you can vape while charging. 101 Vapes usually has them for a low price.

I strongly agree with what has been previously said about making sure you are happy with your vaping experience before focusing on quitting.

Just enjoy vaping when you get your new stuff. There will always be something else you want to buy. You might as well accept that fact now. I did both for a good while and just sort of naturally chose to quit. No withdrawal, no depression. I hope I never forget how bad that last cigarette tasted to me. Good luck to you and I look forward to reading about your happy vaping and what vapemail you are expecting. :)

Congratulations on the move towards quitting. I am on week four of vaping. I was a two PaD smoker. Now I occasionally have a cig--without guilt. It just doesn't matter how fast you get there. You *will* get there at you're own pace.

Lots of good advice on quitting already. The hardest part is changing the habits... The moments we associate with smoking, like after waking up, driving, after a meal, etc., just vape instead.

I stick with all 12-15 mg juice. If I really need more nic, I just vape more. Otherwise I don't want all the nicotine.

You're gonna like the Nautilus. But realistically you'll need more power than a ego can deliver. I *can* run mine off a 1300 mah Vision Spinner (eGo-style variable voltage) but it is MUCH better with my Sigelei W20 (or any other large battery device). The MPV2 mentioned above is a good value suggestion if you can handle the form factor.

Be patient and enjoy the vape!

update: I found a local vape shop that just opened in my area. I am going to return the 650 mah coming in the mail. I over paid and not happy. I just bought the vision spinner 1100 mah vv and got a kangertech evod clearomizer. Thanks for all the help.

Be careful with the clearomizers. Some liquids are tank crackers. I recommend the Aerotank or a Protank. They are glass so you can use any liquid and either should fit on your 1100mah vv batt, though they will be a bit top heavy. Might try the Protank 2 Mini. I have 3 of them.

I started vaping 2 weeks ago and as soon as I started using it I haven't picked up one analog since. I was a PAD smoker for 12+ and never made it more than 24 hours the few times I tried to "quit." Yes, there have been some trials in giving up the stinkies, but I already feel SO much better. I didn't tell myself as soon as I started vaping that I would quit smoking. It just kinda happened that way. When I feel the urge for a smoke, I vape! I started off using 18 mg nic juice and just bought some 12 mg nic juice to see how that goes. Like I said, I am brand new to this, but loving it so far. From what I've read everyone is different. Some people smoke/vape for awhile to ease themselves off analogs. I just know if I have one analog it will turn into 2,3, 10, 20... So I choose to vape through the cravings. :). Welcome and best of luck to you!

I found flavor that offered a strong through hit (cinnamon, or mint is what i used) helped with my cravings a lot and after a week or two my sense of smell and taste improved. Keep at it and you'll kick it. good luck and happy vapeing.

I agree with the strong hit. Coffee and vanilla did it for me because morning was the toughest.
