Trying to stop tobacco completely

Hi everyone! I just joined this forum . I am 65 and smoked menthol for 50 years. I try and get as much info on vape as possible. Have vapes for several years but smoked as well. I have found different methods work for different folks. I started with cig a likes. Right now I think I should have stayed right there. I went on to vape pens and love them but continued to smoke. Just got an on the go cig a like kit with one of my vape orders. I went outside to use it, which is what I always have done with tobacco. Voila ! It works to use outside! What I like is that it looks like a traditional cigarette and is pre filled with a sharper taste. Which is why I stubbornly went outside to smoke. I never would have guessed this solution!

Thanks...I was unaware of adjustable air flow. Is it a full device or a tank that sits on a certain battery ? Also, i have heard about coils . Right now I have a Titan with wicks but I understand coils are different.

it has to do with the atomizer or tank. Most have some form of adjustable air flow. Most tanks will go on almost any mod. For example, I used a kanger toptank mini on the battery from a vplum (vapeplus) ecig. The airflow on the ecig was not adjustable, it was on the kanger. However, since you had to do a mouth to lung on the ecig, the air flow wasn't really necessary, it was all preset.

A coil is just the part that heats up, the wick usually goes through the coil, but can also be wrapped around it. Basically, you have 4 things involved with a coil... the metal element (coil) the wick (usually cotton) the ejuice (we know what that is), and air. It is the air that flows through or around the coil that determines how much vapor and how much of a "drag" you can get, and also the temperature of your vape. (in addition to the power going through the coil, air flow will cool the vapor).

It looks like the Titan uses roughly the same coil-wick atomizer unit as my vplum (different size of course) but inside those little metal thingies... is a coil and a wick.

Maybe the idea in quitting smoking in favor of vaping, is thinking, that the only thing you are really giving up is the smoke, which will kill you. You still get your nicotine, you still get to sit and relax and puff away while reading your paper, or chatting across the fence with a neighbor, and perhaps the biggest reason to stick to it, you are setting an example for family that still smoke, especially when they see you feel better than they have ever seen you before. (going from my own experience, and having to stop for breath walking up a slight hill, at age 52 and not having to do that now)
And, to put it in a manner that won't give admin a heart attack... my 36 yr old wife is grinning more than she did before I started vaping. *and hell yes I am bragging about my 36 yr old wife.. BOOYAA!*

The real turning point for me was the move from e cig style pens to a Kanger Subtank Mini. The flavor of the juice and the ability to easily build my own coils was the game changer for me. Up to that point I was a dual user. Plus I found juice that actually has a real tobacco flavor. That was almost seven months ago and I'll never go back!
