Variable wattage is wonderful.....been using it for almost two years.....I no longer own Variable voltage devices.....

To answer your question, What does it mean? :

Variable voltage (voltage regulation) maintains the voltage to the atomizer/carto, etc... as you change atty/carto,etc to one with a different ohm rating, you just adjust the voltage again to compensate for the different ohm rating.

Variable wattage (power regulation) maintains the wattage to the atomizer/carto, etc....as you change atty/carto, etc. to one with a different ohm rating, you don't have to adjust the wattage, as it automatically compensates for the ohm difference to maintain the wattage...

How do you set it? :

Using either Variable Voltage or Variable wattage you basically adjust it to the voltage/wattage setting until you find your best vape experience.

If you change the atty/carto to a different one with a different ohm rating you need to re-adjust the voltage setting (when using variable voltage) again to get your needed vape experience, and you need to do nothing with variable wattage (when using variable wattage).

That is the short answer to your question....

I bought into the hype of variable wattage.. and yet I still use the variable voltage feature on my VAMO. I already know off-hand what volts my devices like so I just set it to that.
What I DO like about the VAMO is the RMS setting, and having rock solid voltage until the battery needs recharging. I hated the inconsistent vape I got from other devices.

From the Vamo users guide....

Voltage to the atomising device can be provided in two ways from the mod.
RMS and AVG. It is recommended that users use the RMS (Root Mean Square) mode as this will be a more reliable and accurate method of delivering consistently accurate voltage.

No need to debate VV vs. VW....that has been done numerous times.....if VV works great for you that's what counts.....VW works wonderful for me.....and that's what matters also.... :):)

I do my VW as it adjusts to whatever carto/clearo/atty I use. With that said, I do sometimes have to either go up or down on the wattage depending on how my juice/taste buds behave, but it isn't as much adjusting as I would do in VV mode. There are some affordable VW devices out there that also has a VV mode as well which IMO is worth checking out.
