I've been vaping for awhile now, almost exclusively with mechs and rdas. As far as rebuilding, and battery safety are concerned I'm set. There's one thing about mechs that I can guess at but haven't figured out and it's been driving me a bit crazy lately. How does the tube complete the circuit? So normally you have your battery crammed in the tube up against the positive pin of the device and when you hit the bottom switch you're bringing the negative pin up to contact the battery and complete the circuit. Now the idea I've settled on is that the tube is just the unprotected wire that completes the circuit and I'm getting a mild shock every time I fire the device. So what's going on? Is the tube just being used as a simple conductor or is there something special going on?
The mod I'm most curious about is the Nemesis but most tube mechs telescopic or otherwise have the same components so they must all be doing the same thing or something similar right?

Thanks for your time guys. :)

The ones I have all complete the Negative side. For safety reasons you should not swap it. If the battery is in correctly and the case shorts on the side it's not good as it will fire off the atty. But if it's in backwards it will short to the mech and get real hot. All my mechs have a bottom button which touches the base of the battery to complete the circuit. Have no experience with the side buttons. You should not get a shock as there is no path to either terminal to your skin and the voltage is so low unless you did the touch it to your tongue on the connector thing you would not fell it.
