Tugboat coil build w/ DNA30 Vaporshark

Just bought the tugboat and made a coil of 1.8ohms of 30G kanthal, I was expecting better results with the vapor production. Am I doing something wrong? what would be the Ideal build with either 30g or 28 g kanthal? this is on a DNA30 Vaporshark mod at 21.5 watts 6.9 v

I built a similar coil tonight. Just got the Tugboat in the mail. I had really good vapor production. using open source vapor 100% VG juice. However, my coil tasted burnt or something. thats what led me here to post. Hopefully someone can chime in. Did u have any issues with ur coil tasting burnt?

Hopefully someone with even more knowledge than me jumps in but 28 gauge will have more surface area for more flavor and vapor and if you do the same amount of wraps the ohms will come out lower of it has the evolve chip the you can go to .5 ohms said shoot a little lower than what you did and pics might help the others also

I've had great results with a 1.3ohm 28g build at 30W

Make sure your getting enough air flow to your coil and the wicking media is not restrictions it. Go over your build and wicking carefully . See if air flow is being restricted. Hope this helps. I use 28 gauge almost 100% of the time on different resistance coils anywhere from .7 to 1.2 and I get great vapor production. Your issue might have more to do with wicking than with the coil itself. Can you post a photo of your build and how you wicked.? That might be helpful in determining the issue. Best wishes

The tugboat is made for dual coils and lower ohms. It's not really a flavor rda it's a vapor rda.

Figured it out I suppose ha, you were right questioning the airflow I found that placing the airholes next to the coils works wonders. and the flavor is defintely not the best on this one.

yes, always position the air holes in front of the coils and make sure your cotton isn't suffocating the air holes. airflow is an often-overlooked but also very important part of vapor production. 1.8 ohms on a regulated device should be fine but if you feel you want more vappr than that, look into getting a mechanical mod and building it subohms. I'm currently using a Manhattan mod with a plumeveil rda and a .17 ohm parallel coil (I like it hot), and it produces huge vapor. the tugboat is great for blowing clouds and has a huge juice well so you're set with that.

0.6 duel 28g micro coil in my tugboat on a cana at 30 watts and it hits rather nice!
