Hi SeniorBoy,

I'm not sure what the question is in this post. Please clarify :)

I certainly don't wish to beat this to death and I appreciate the direct input from Cinder Ella :) I'm confident we can all help Halo maintain their reputation and insure that QC remains on target.

Please explain to me the enclosed pic? From my order of 5/17/2013 as part of a Tobacco Sample. Seal never broken.

Also, in regards to steeping. As I mentioned we have a certain time frame of steeping that we consider acceptable for each juice (I honestly am not positive what that range is, it could be a few days or a few weeks or a few months and I believe it varies between liquids). An entire batch of our liquid is steeped and bottled at once, so the variations would be between different batches not between bottles of the same batch. For example, Batch A may have steeped for 6 weeks and Batch B may have had a chance to steep for 8 weeks. AGAIN, I am using 6 and 8 weeks as completely made up numbers as I really do not know what the time frame is. Our batches steep in large amounts (and are then bottled and sealed) so the matter of a week here in our lab may only make a very small difference as opposed to your individual 7ml bottle steeping for a week. Letting your 7ml bottle steep with the top off for just a day or two may make the same difference as a few weeks of us letting it steep here before it is bottled. My apologies if that is confusing! :) Also, this process helps us with QC in the sense that it is basically impossible for one bottle from a specific batch to be a "bad bottle", since the entire batch is processed at one time not on a per bottle basis, if there were to be something wrong with the batch, every bottle would be affected.

Halo customer service got back to me. Here's what was said:
"Good afternoon Mark,
Sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing. We have not had any reported issues regarding this. Thank you for sending us the lot number. We will test it today and get back to you tomorrow.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Diana"

Thanks for asking Detail Man. Nope, nothing from them yet. I'll try and post a picture here to show the color. To be fair, I put it in a different tank and I seem to be getting (a little) more flavor than before. Maybe it IS just me? Or maybe it needs a little more steep time.

Thanks for posting a pic Detail Man! Actually they don't look too far off do they? Cinder Ella P.M.'d me and is looking into why they haven't responded.
Meanwhile, the flavor seems to be coming around a little more each day. I hope I haven't been wasting everyone's time here when all it really needed was a couple weeks steep time  I guess Halo has me spoiled, I'm used to getting it out of the mail box and putting it right in a tank. I've had nothing but great service from them so far.

I was thinking mine was a bit darker but I've had my bottle for a month. Maybe a slight case of Vaper's tongue is at play too. I'm very glad Cinder Ella got with you. I know she has a job to do but it's nice to see her operate outside the protocol of a typical CS drone.
That "This is the first report of this issue we've heard" line rubs me the wrong way.

Actually, none of the ejuice in your two pics posted is anywhere near/close as dark or the color as seen in my pic in this thread. :)

How this factors into the equation remains to be seen as it's how it taste to you and really not the color. The last post by Cinder Ella is a gold mine of valuable information and very much appreciated. :) Perhaps related is the fact that my ejuice has an expire date of 3/2014 so does that mean it was created in 3/2013 and needs a few months to reach maturity since I didn't receive it until 5/13? What is the expire date on your juice? That might help or maybe it would not.

Whatever happens, I hope it works out in the best interest of all parties.

Hey SeniorBoy. My sample was a closer color to yours. Maybe the plastic vs. glass has some effect on the color?? I used it all up so I can't snap a picture. The "Best By" date on the 30 ML bottle of mine is 6/23/14.
I agree about the information Cinder Ella provided. She's been very helpful.

@Detail Man. The color of my juice doesn't seem to be changing but the flavor actually seems to be a little more pronounced each day. I don't know, maybe I'm nuts......
Your thoughts on vapers tongue might be right, although I've never experienced it before.

Thanks Garemlin, that's the path I'll take. The liquid has improved a bit just since the original post.
I would have felt better hearing a little something from C.S. though. Still nothing.........

Wasn't trying to step on CS toes. Just noticed some of my liquids take longer to change color after sitting. I have a Kahlua mix that I got from ECB. The sample bottle was almost clear. I ordered a 30ml and it was a little darker, and my most recent a 50ml was almost pinkish color.

Like I said I can't guarantee this is the case with you. It was just a suggestion.

I heard from Halo customer service today. Here's what they said: "We apologize for the delayed response.
We tested the lot# and everything seems to be fine.
Most of our e-liquid is pre-steeped. However, in the future we recommend removing the cap and letting it sit loosely on the bottle for 24-48 hours. The color will darken the longer the liquid sits, and the taste will become much more pronounced. You can also try running the bottle under warm water, which helps to bring out more of the flavor.
During the colder months, it is very important to make sure the liquid gets back to room temp after shipping to bring out the flavor and try giving a light shake from time to time. This helps to meld the liquid again, particularly if the liquid has gotten cold in transit.
Enjoy the rest of your day!"
I'm going to put the bottle up for a couple weeks. I think it will be fine as the flavor has already started to become more pronounced. Thanks everyone for your input! This place is great!

Glad everyone seems to be happy. Tons of great info about steeping directly from the source. :) With all the talk in this thread about Turkish I decided to try it. Even in a LR cart it blows me away with a Triton Bat. As others have said, spot on for a cigarette like vape flavor. Cant wait to load up a tank and dial it in.

Which reminds me... given what has been said about aging/steeping with time for Turkish, is their a law of diminishing returns with steeping? For example, I grab a couple of bottles of Turkish, hoard them away and then try them in two years? Maybe in one year? Are they worth more per bottle when they have been aged for two years? /lol :)
