I also have found that AC-USB adapters usually are hazardous. If they do not have a CE marking i simply ditch them. Now some will have the CE(meaning China Export) and this can be confusing as they imitate the true CE (European Conformity, in French). These do not comply with a Low Voltage Directive that determines its conformity.
I have one of these chargers here...i googled it the model name that comes in the sticker :HF-B0504 . Results:
EUROPA - Consumer Affairs - Unsafe products
Models (all identical) VAA-001, VAA-009 and/or HF-B0504 are unsafe.
CE marking

The true CE mark:
The china export mark:
"Some products have a CE symbol that has been alleged to stand for China Export and is confusingly very similar to the E.U.'s CE mark. The two letters are close together, not spaced as in the European conformance mark.[9][10][11]
Some products may be conforming but not displaying the logotype correctly and others may illegally put the correct mark on non-conforming items,[12] or on an item without the required accompanying certificate of conformity."
So far there is only one Chinese Manufacturer that has certificates for all their products regarding wall chargers (does not mean others don't...they just don't give them..so i suspect they don't).
That is Joye: they have their chargers certified.
You could also use a certified AC-USB adapter from a major league company. I use a Nokia AC-USB adapter. It is made in China but has met all safety standards.
