I'm looking for A LOT of vapor, so should I be looking at dual coil cartomizers? There's double the service area, and it makes sense that the vapor would be being produced twice as fast. Am I understanding this wrong?
:vapor:

yes and no....it really depends on the cartomizer...i've found some dual coils produce insane amounts of vapor (the mega eGo dual coil cartos from vaping zone come to mind) but i find that the ikenvape 801 fusion is bar none when it comes to cartomizers, and is a single coil....if you want performance out of your cartos i highly suggest checking out ikenvape.com for the platinum series and the fusions, just keep in mind you may need an adapter for the fusion

It more depends on your e-cig. Dual coils split the wattage between coils. It takes a lot of amps to do this at high voltage and low resistance so YMMV depending on your setup.

Basically, the best way to figure out what you can do is to use the Ohm's Law Calculator. Type in your voltage and the resistance and hit calculate. If it's between 6-8 watts divided by 2 then you're good to try it. If it's not, then forget about it. You can play around with the numbers and see what may or may not work for you. I could tell you more but I'd need to know what your vaping on for an e-cig and what resistance you are accustomed to.

Ohm's Law Calculator

BTW: Power = watts. Watts = Power

Thus, as Elmattias said, it may be more beneficial to rely on a single coil. Furthermore, more vapor isn't always the answer. If you don't believe that do a double vape (two batteries, two atomizers at the same time). I bet you hack your brains out. I know I did. BETTER vapor is the answer and that requires the right mix of equipment, voltage, resistance (the combo of which will give you your wattage), and juice. Long story short, it's best to have a basic understanding of how electricity affects vaping. If you'd like a primer I explain that in great detail as well as a great many other things in The Vapor's Handbook. You can find the link to it in my signature and I invite you to go there and learn all you can. After all, I wrote it for all vaperkind.

You are one who will probably look into higher voltage mods. 3.7 with LR cartos are the sweet spot for me........but........ I've seen crazy amounts of vapor with 6v and 3 ohm cartos. Having higher volts means you go with a higher ohm (more coil wraps around wick) carto.

You end up with the same amount of watts for power, but you would have more coil/surface area for producing vapor.......

You might want to scan this thread on watts vs coil size vs wire size vs temperature vs vapor. There's a picture in there of the coil of an HH357 vs a regular atty and you can see the HH has a long many wrap coil with fat wire and a regular/standard-ish atty has a short coil with fewer wraps and thinner wire. So yeah high res with more wraps or same res with more wraps of lower res wire... you can get a wide variety of vapor volume and temperature if you play around with the coil design.
