I love the idea of the nicostick, I plan on making a 510 version soon. But... I have only one pet pev. I dont like the atomizer/cart sticking out. I want to be able to recess the atty and cart into the body when not in use.

My idea is like a "clicky" ink pen, spring loaded, push down to hide it in the body, push down again to have it spring up.

chanllenges.

1. wires/solder joints will get alot of wear and tear moving. (outside connection could "ride" on metal plate to eliminate one wire)
2. size of atty/cart fitting in the body with switch. (bigger body?)
3. finding/creating the "clicky thing"

my forte is not engineering... while I'm good with my hands and have a basic knowledge of mechanics/physics/electrical design, i'm a coder by trade. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting idea. It might be just as good and easier to have the atty/cart assembly spring loaded. You could just push it down and have it lock in the down position, then push a button to have it pop back up into vaping position. I think this would be fairly easy. Still a concern about wire flexing, but not as much.

Oh, I see. Completely flush for "storage mode".

Not hard to pull off, but forget all the springs and clicky-pen stuff, way too complicated and bound to fail.

Instead, just make a track for that atomizer and connector to slide on and cut a small grove in the box for a little tab to stick out that is attached to the atomizer connector. Slide it up and down with your thumb.

Genius is simplicity. That's the ticket. I'll still use a spring, but have the bottom of the groove in the box notched to hold the atty down.

Thanks a million!
