I did a bit of searching for this before I posted, but will admit I gave up in frustration and decided to go ahead and post this....

Last week, the little rubber button on one of my manual 510 batteries got somehow "shoved" into the battery housing (ie; it was no longer in the outward position so that it could be depressed to activate the battery). I got my tweezers and pulled it out, then placed it back in, and now the batt no longer works. I pulled the rubber thing out again and made sure the contact was aligned, but still no go.

Tonight the same thing happened to a second batt, and it too no longer works. These were my mega batts too, which sux even more.

I didn't mistreat these at all, didn't leave them to bang around in my pocket or purse or anything. Methinks they are cheap ... pieces of crap.

So I am now at my wits end and am seriously looking at going to another type of PV altogether (suggestions welcome), but does anyone know how to take apart and rebuild a 510 batt? As in, is it worth it to even try??

Thanks for any help on this....:-x

belive it or not the button design is better than the original!! the original manual was a hard plastic button that use to break off (lost a few that way). This itself was an improvement on the autos, went through about 6 of them in two months!!!!

Any way I would recomend moving away from the skinny batteries to

a. ego/tornado
b. 510 Screwdriver

you could try and take the battery apart, the last time I did this I broke the wires going to the PCB under the switch
