I'm not completely sure what's happening so I figured this would be the place to ask? Twice now I've ended up with what seems to be completely dead 18490/18500 AW batteries after leaving them in my Silver Bullet with a kick in it and no cartos/attys, etc on it. I guess that after the first time it happened I should have been more cautious and just taken one or the other out when I wasn't using it but I thought the first time might have just been a fluke. Both times my SB sat on the counter top for a week or two in this configuration without use and then when I tried it and it didn't work I threw it on the charger to see if it was just drained but nothing happens, the light stays green on the charger (I use a ultra fire wf-188) never getting that red charging indicator light. Why would this happen? Something is draining the life out of these batteries.:(

Your batteries could have drained to the point where your mod detected that the batteries were too low and it won't fire. If you had a multimeter you could test to see if they are really charged or not. It's hard to tell but you could have a pair of bad batteries or a bad charger. I'm just guessing here without more info.

I have found that on my mods where the fire switch is after the kick the batteries will drain since even with no load the kicks circuitry is still active, this wont happen with bottom switch mods as they cut the power going to the kick. I actually freaked out the first time this happened to me using a bolt with kick and 18350 (the mod even got warm where the kick was).
So a word of advice, if always take the batteries out when your mod is not in use.

The UltraFire chargers are rather firm when it comes to the low end voltage determining when to turn on. Some chargers like the Xtar and Nitecore are not as particular and also have the ability to reset tripped protection circuits.
