That was a labor of love, great review of your experiences, I love the narrative style of what you remember trying and how you redeemed the initial bad experiences to what you enjoy now.

It made me want to go seek out the cherry flavor. I must admit that when I go down the list of flavors on any given site, I'm sort of unable to imagine enjoying that mixed with a smoking experience. But remembering my pipe smoking years ago (my ex's father smoked pipes growing up, so she really encouraged me to give it a go, which I enjoyed, but never could get over the fact that I thought I looked like a dork doing it, and it was sort of a pain).

Anyway, I may look into your PV based on your good experiences, although I'm just starting out to, and pretty much love my eGo (510 atty, long life battery, manual). But, you know... variety can only make it a bit better..

Thanks again for the great post...

Thanks, everyone and you're welcome.
Good choice, rpgman, because you'll get a taste of the auto and the manual.
Rfphill, I have a feeling you're good to go with a 510. I've heard so many good things about them, it was on the top of my list and I'd still like to try one - unless you're looking for something smaller.
I'm now considering modervapor's 902 actually because it supposedly has as much vapor as a 510 but keeps the taste. I can fit my Sidesho batter on it so I may bay a 902 atty and some blank carts to try it out. The Sidesho has better access to the atty for dripping but I don't drip much. The 902's atty isn't exposed like that but it holds more, almost a full ml i think, and has easier access for refilling. The 902 is slightly longer though, so if you want that smaller analog feel, I still think the Sidesho is the way to go, from what I've heard about others like the Blu. Remember though, I'm new to this and don't have a lot of experience with different models. Anyway, I'm going on again, but I'd like to try their 902 next, as well as a 510 at some point.

Awesome post, Garnoch. I've been trying to find one to suit me for a closer to Analog feel for the time being until I get used to vaping more. I'll have to give this one a shot. I had ordered a Blu last week and still haven't received it, but supposedly it shipped Wednesday.........s!

I'll be canceling my order and giving this one a go once I get that money back. I'll have to pick up some blue foam as well. Awesome read, very informative for us noobs! :D

Now.... onto/back to my flavor issue. I was loving the Cherry from Modern Vapor but sometimes the flavor wasn't there and sometimes it was. Great throat hit though. MV's Pineapple is really nice too, but the flavor was always there with that flavor so it confused me. I thought it might be the Sidesho's problem. I was wrong. The same issue was present with the 902. Man, do I love MV's cherry, but why would the flavor come and go. No idea really, BUT its not an ecig issue, which I'm so glad about. I ordered 9 juices from mstsbakery.com because of the reviews. If you want STRONG flavor, go there. I'll try tastyvapor.com next. Here's the thing though, those flavors might be too strong for me. I never thought I'd say that. Although I found some new flavors I'll keep with and some I won't - will keep trying others, I find myself still going back to and loving MV's Cherry (even if the flavor goes away sometimes), and Pineapple. I also found that if you're looking for a new flavor AND are not happy with how much vapor you're getting, try different juices. Some juice has crazy vapor - and some have less.

Turns out, I HAVE read bits and pieces of this when doing searches about the frustrations I was having. I wish I had read the whole thing! That is EXACTLY what I am going through right now on day 2 of vaping! Anyone buying a sidesho should definitely read this on their first day. As a matter of fact, I think it should be stickied in the Modern Vapor forum! Excellent information, thank you so much!!!

Here, here limomma! I agree it should be a sticky on the MV forum! I read Garnoch's novel last night and was laughing as I felt like I could have written it myself! The experiences with the research, the lingo, etc were just sooooo familiar! I haven't tried the blue foam yet, simply because I haven't been able to get to the pet store, but I'm definitely going to do that. It sounds like that's the way to love my Sidesho even more than I already do!

Hey thanks, guys. I almost felt bad about how long it was and realized a lot of people wouldn't actually read it because of that, but I figured if it helped even one person then it was worth it. I considered posting it in MV's forum, but thought it would do more good here, especially since I think these issues are more global than just to the Sidesho. I hear similar stories from the Blu on up to the 510. I think all newbies would be happier once they break it in, get used to it, do a filler mod and find the right juice. One thing is for sure... ecigs take some work. But you know what? I think its still less work than stopping at a store to buy analogs and pulling out a pack, sliding an analog out, grabbing a lighter, lighting it up and putting it out - 10, 20 or 50 times a day. Oh and I don't have to clean ashtrays any more. :)
