Yepper..I am proud of myself. Forty years of 1-2 PAD...gone thanks to eCigs and advice and encouragement from this forum.

I bought an eGo-T from the get go and had the leaking problem but thanks to some good advice from great forum folks, I purchased some Boge 2.0 cartomizers and haven't looked back. Now I just have to find my favorite juices. Now a few noob observations:

It feels wonderful not having to allocate what little money I have for those cartons of analogs and the trip every week to the discount smoke shop.

Every since they made it a law that all analogs here in the states had to be self extinguishing, the ashes would fall off if you looked at them wrong. No more shower of ashes around\on me.

vaping is alot like other personal things we do. You have to find your own groove in what works best for you. You can get all the great advice you want but you still have to find your personal spot that works best. Hardware, software, juices and habit.

No more buying flints and lighter fluid. No more people stealing my lighter. No more running out of lighter fluid and having to bum lights. No more filling the lighter too full, putting it in my pocket and then doing the lighter fluid chemical burning my leg dance.

I have extra money!:2cool:

I could go on and on but you all see where its going. I love vaping and I am no longer killing myself with smoke.

Have a great day!

Mark

Mark,
Congrats and welcome to ECF. You're correct in your post when you stated that each person has to find what works for them. It's a fun adventure.

dupont,
Congrats to you also. Once you find the right equipment, there's no turning back. It's fun trying out new gear, juices, tanks, mods, etc.

Congrats on the switch from analogs. I have the eGo-T, too, and am expecting my first shipment of Boge cartos today! Can't wait to try them out. So far, I'm loving the eGo-T, especially the consistent vapor and hit, and the battery that goes all day. My first foray was with the mall kiosk ecig, and I went back to analogs after two weeks. I still have an emergency pack sitting in the room, but have gone from 1 PAD to about 5 cigs. I plan on reducing that, and then putting the analogs to sleep for good.

Haven't had withdrawal effects, but sometimes I find myself vaping like crazy to keep the nicotine coming, versus having an analog and being good for an hour or two. I'm using 18mg but have some legacy 24mg from my first ecig go-around. I'm hoping its a mental thing, and the urge for a real analog goes away.

But again, congrats!!!

Welcome and great to hear! My wallet has been getting slammed, but thats just from exploring any and everything I can.

@threeput The need or want for the cigs will fade in time. Nicotine isn't the only thing you crave. There are plenty of chemicals in there your body thinks it wants. Took me 6 months before an urge to smoke was completely gone from the back of my mind. You just have to keep vaping away and let things happen when they happen. Good luck,

I've not had any withdrawal symptoms until the last few days. I've been feeling a little depressed or melancholy. I guess I'm missing my old analog friend. Now I've had more sleeplessness since I quit the analogs but that is no big deal as I don't sleep all that well at night anyway. No problem falling asleep. just can't stay asleep. I would wake up and smoke analogs 5-6 times a night. I still wake up but I just grab the old eGo for a few vapes and I'm good. I've also had what I call ghost analog attacks...tap the old shirt pocket and that pack of cigs isn't there and start to panic a shade. I have also woke up at night in a panic like I couldn't breath...not sure what that is about.

I just wish I would have known that it would be this easy to quit cause I would have done it a long time ago.

I also would wake gasping for breath, triggering mild anxiety. That prompted my e-cig research... and my, so far, success.

And yes, it was sooooo easy for me to flip that analog OFF switch.

Hey Mark:

I've had some similar experiences - especially wishing I had known about the e-cigs a long time ago. How long have e-cigs been around? I sure wish I had known about them from the beginning. But I guess "better late than never..."

For some reason, I find myself waking up at night too. I didn't connect it to quitting analogs, but maybe there is a connection. And I've had what you describe as a "ghost analog attack." One time, without thinking about it I picked up a lighter and touched the flame to my e-cig without thinking. (Realized quickly enough to avoid damage.)

My recommendations: 1) keep some pretty high strength juice around for times you are feeling antsy, 2) remind yourself frequently what a good thing you are doing for your health, 3) use one of those online quitting calculators to figure out how much $$ you've saved - I've almost saved the cost of a nice Martin guitar, even counting what I've spent on e-cigs, and 4) keep vaping and don't look back.
