A little over two years ago I was looking up a phone # online and a pop up ad for ecigs appeared--what the? I did some research and decided--what the hell--I'll give it a go. Two years today at about 11 am I smoked a cigarette --then the postman delivered my first ecig-- I filled up my cartridge with juice, put it on my little white(needed to look like a cigarette ya know) Joye 510 battery and quit smoking! My vaping evolution ...

--Joye 510 with atomizer/cartridges --tea bag mod!--Bloog--Ego kit--Boge cartos--SmokTech dual coil cartos--GLV mod --started Diy'ing juice--Vapemate with atomizer--Provari--Carto tanks--first gen Stardust--SmokTech Mega cartos--Kanger T2--Vivi Nova--Bought Provari V2--sold Provari V1--lost Provari V2 !!--Ego twist--Vamo--started rewicking Vivi Nova

All in all I spent alot as I went along but still far less than cigarettes. After two years I've pretty much settled on a Vamo with mostly Vivi Nova's(rewicked with cotton),some carto tank, mega carto use and I mostly Diy juice. With that combination I am spending at most $30-$50 a month on average. There are still things I want to try and I'm sure I'll go on a spending spree again soon as new stuff comes out but for now I'm very satisfied with where I'm at and I'm sure glad I saw that pop up ad two years ago! Many thanks to this forum and all the people that helped me out along the way!

I'd love to see the vaping evolution of some other folks--particularly those that have been doing it since the cartridge days--lol!

Well no 1., congrats on your two years.

I have a similar evolution including the cig lookalike phase, the diy phase, the messing around with VV mods and so on. I bet the cartridge vapers do have some stories to tell lol. it's like that commercial with the 12 yr old kid lecturing the 4 yr olds on how she didn't have wireless cable boxes back in her day. The e-cig has only been around since 2004 but I suppose to the cartridge vets it seems like eons ago.

congrats on two years! im working on my third year myself:)
my experience was about the same saw a pop up for a BLU and ordered it,it worked ok for the first few weeks but was still puffing on a cig here and there it just was not good enough to keep up with my habits.

i went through a few cigalikes before deciding that they just were not going to be strong enough,i happened to see a ecig kiosk at the mall one day and decided to stop and check it out i walked away with a ego-t kit for nearly $200 and was very satisfied with the vapor i was getting from it until i got home and looked it up and saw i could have got it online for $50 lol. lesson learned dont buy a ecig at the mall....

anyways eventually found some juice that would work pretty good with the ego-t's but the cost of the attys for them was just crazy at about $15 each and only lasted a few days each and were near imposable to get clean to reuse so i started to look for what was next.

ordered a lavatube from volcano with a lava tank i used this for almost a year and bought another one once the steal ones came out they worked great just wasn't all to happy about the muted flavor of the carto's after a few hours of use but at-least they were more affordable.

then started to order up ce2's, clearos, drip attys(pain to maintain) and finally CE5's and then vivi novas once they were out,and numerus ecigs like a provari, vamo, vmax, zmax, more ego's.

now i pretty much stick with a Sigelei Zmax set to RMS and VW with a Vivi Nova and make my own juice and so far has given me the best vaping experience to date but am always keeping my eyes open for something new and better:)

Congrats on your 2 years! Nice evolution you got there, I started like you with the Joy510 but I barely used it, I moved to a KR808D-1 right after (with cartos). I never bothered with the tea bags and everything, I always felt that it didn't made much difference. Then Wetbox (14500) -> DIY -> Custom box mod (14500) -> atomizers -> Mini Reo -> Grand Reo -> Lavatube -> Rebuildable atomizer (Genesis Maxi, DID) and finally settled with a Gripper and Phoenix for the past 5 months and still very happy with my setup.

Needless to say I've spent a lot like you trying everything, tons of liquid, atomizers LR, HR, 306, bridgeless, 6 volts batteries stacked, triple-coil cartos, dual-coil tank carto and so on !

You do realize that e-cigs aren't an effective way to stop smoking. I recommend you quit that and pick up some gum/patch or chantix.

Your supposed success is all due to "the placebo effect". Why I don't post personal testimonials about e-cigarettes on by blog | Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education

??---what the heck are you on about--lol?
Sorry--my bad--you're joking!

It was a joke? I still don't get it lol

Sorry, should have used a :)

Just pisses me off there are guys like Glantz out there spouting their BS and getting big bucks to do it.

The OP is a wonderful example of someone that vaping helped break the smoking habit and I just thought it deserved a link to that as$hole's post.

Should have just said Congrats on 2 years! I am only 4 months, but I know vaping can work where those other methods do not.

:toast:

edit - I also smoked my last cigarette the day I started vaping. Worked a charm.
