Hey Folks!

As of December 2010 I am now two years tobacco-free. I first saw e-cigs on some gadget web site and bought it on a whim. I now use a 3.7 volt mod, and just purchased a 5 volt mod in celebration. Yeah, I'm still on nicotine, and some might give me a hard time for that, but I'll admit, I am a nicotine junkie freak. At least I'm not getting all the tars and carcinogens associated with tobacco. In the past I've done countless methods to stop smoking including chantix. Personal Vaporizers are the only thing that has worked for any length of time for me.

So! Vape On! Yeah!

Congrats on your 2 year anniversary ! I love hearing the stories of those that have been vaping for a long time. Curious what nic level do you use and do you vape lots of different flavors or just have a couple of favorites you use most often?

Thanks! I vape high (24). I tend to stick with coffee and cappuccino type flavors. I smoked menthols when I smoked. I like the idea of the fruit flavors, but I tend not to actually like them very much.

I've been using Puresmoker Protege, but just ordered the Great Lakes Vapor mod...

I would also be intersted in hearing from someone who has vaped long term and visited their physcian on a regular basis. I quit analogs a little more than a month ago and now my husband is concerned about the vaping and it's effects on a persons health. I know I feel better after tossing the analogs. I love my Smoke Stick Hendu and I really don't plan on ever giving it up.

Congrats to the original poster!!

With so many questions about long-term effects, I thought I would repost some information from a prevous thread...

I just got back from my spirometry test, and the results are very encouraging.

Let me start by saying that I have been getting a bit worried after vaping for 17 months.
My favorite flavor is Caramel Popcorn, and I'm pretty sure the rest of my favorite flavors are no more friendly.
:)

For the last few months I have been having some issues that went away after quitting smoking but came back.
--nasal congestion every morning
--some slight "crackling" in my lungs in the morning
--slight coughing every morning to free up the gurgling
--frequent need to blow my nose
--ocassional shortness of breath or heavy feeling in lungs

I was a bit worried, but figured that it was probably just my lungs removing the PG/VG from the day before.
But I wanted to be a little more sure.

So, the results are...

Code:
           1st pass 2nd pass 3rd pass
FEV1 4.51 4.48 4.37
FVC 5.55 5.43 5.47
FEV1/FVC 0.81 0.83 0.80

FEV1/FVC should be 80% for normal lung function, so I'm right on target there.
The doctor also said my lungs sound fine.

From this point forward I will use the $80 spirometer I bought to keep an eye on my FEV1 rate.
You have to move up to a $400 model to measure your FVC so that is why I had to go get this test, for an FVC baseline.

Disclaimer
As for anyone taking these results as encouraging for themselves, proceed with caution.
I only vape about 1ml per day or less, but have been doing so for 17 months now.

My doctor just wants me off the nicotine, and that ain't gonna happen! How I feel though is noticeable, particularly my sinuses. I breath much easier through my nose. I can definitely smell others' cigs which is in itself a bit of a revelation. I noticed my lungs clearing within months. Otherwise I feel great. Nothing adverse due to two years' worth of vaping, at least not that I'm aware of.

Thanks for all the well-wishes! And yeah, the new mod is in celebration, or at least that's my excuse!
