I just got this AGI atomizer and I noticed that it doesn't have a hole drilled into the negative post. Is this a defect? Also the silicone grommet does not sit flush on the positive post. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't think there's anything wrong with your AGI. Mine is the same. There's really no reason to drill all the way through on the negative. The grommet is supposed to sit there with the lip above the base. Not sure that it really makes any difference, but I don't like those delrin grommets, so I replaced mine with a silicone one like is used on the AGA-T2. BTW, be careful if you decide to use it as a dripper, because the set screws (on mine anyway) don't seal the base 100%, and it may leak. Todd at Todds Reviews suggests putting a bit of vaseline in the holes to keep it from leaking, and I have tried it, but it still leaked. :( I really got it for the genesis mode anyway, so no big deal. I drilled the air hole out to 1/16" tonight, and it hits like a freight train on my Zmax. I might get brave and drill out the wick hole tomorrow. Also, I found it useful to use a silicone plug like is supplied with the AGA-S and RSST to plug the fill hole as the set screw was a pain in the .....

Edit: There is now a version 2 of the AGI that supposedly fixes the leaking issue. Apparently they no longer thread the holes all the way through so that the set screws stop and provide a better seal. I'll likely never use mine as a dripper though, so no worries, and I fixed the spring issue, bored out the wick hole, and widened the air hole on mine for use a a genny. If I want to drip, I'll buy an IGO-L.

Anyone know where I can find the plug for the fill hole? The screw is killing me. If not I might just try and find a longer screw to make it easier to get started.

I bought an AGA-S parts kit for my AGA-S at Vapor Bank, and used the extra plug in the fill hole on my AGI. I think it was $3.99 - kind of expensive I suppose if you don't own the AGA-S though...

AGI - Side air hole correct? if so, no need for post to be hollow. If you are looking for a place to stick the coil wire, it wraps around the Top Screw.:)

Only used the Screw for the Fill Hole if you are traveling with the Tank. It works better - wicks better - with the Hole open to all Air in/Liquid up wick.

Not saying there is a need for it to be hollow, just that there is a pin that the original spring fit over, and a 16 gauge needle fits over the pin. I'm sure there are other ways to fix the problem, but since most of us have needles laying around, it's a simple fix for the problem.

BTW, unless you're running some kind of crazy 31987423545 Amp pulling setup, you shouldn't have to leave the fill hole unplugged imo. If the wick is made properly, it should wick fine with the fill hole plugged. I do admit to leaving it out at times when I don't have enough time to correct the problem, but as soon as I have the time, I fix it. It could be my OCD at work here though. lol

being that I vape porous ceramic, and prefer the 1/8 fc- wicks, I drilled the agi to 1/8. didn't have much of a problem as it drilled out pretty easily. I also tossed the spring center post, its amazing how much resistance that spring adds. next I need to find a few very small washers to add to the positive, so to add just a little more room for my coils, have you done anything to lengthen the distance of the pp? in all my gennys I always keep out the fill hole, not so much for wicking, but for convenience. a lot of gennys comes with threaded fill holes, for me its just a pain to keep screwing & unscrewing.

I have not. I pretty much just try to deal with the short post, though it is a bit of a pain. I'd be interested in modifying the post, so if you do, please let me know how you went about it. I just picked up some FC-2000 7/64" wicks, and I have some 1/8" on the way. I've had the 7/64" wicks soaking in my all-day vape for the better part of 24 hours. I've rinsed them repeatedly in hot water, torched them clean, soaked them in juice, and so on. I'm hoping that I won't run into any wicking issues having done all of that in advance. I have a second AGA-T2 on the way, and am holding off on trying the smaller ceramic wicks until it arrives because all of the gennys that I currently own have been drilled out to 1/8". I'm really anxious to try them though.
