For the last month I have been smoking instead of vaping. I am so disappointed in myself. I have switched back to vaping again since yesterday. I just dont understand why I did it other than the stress of being away from home for a month while attending a training class. My family is so mad at me too.

Guess my ticker is a little srong ..going to have to change it again..lol

It happens, don't kick yourself.
You fall off, but ya got back on.
You just need to look at it and ask what went wrong.
Maybe with out your family it was the stress and ya just needed a bigger kick. If ya feel it happen again get a stronger nic and if that don't work look at a higher end mod.
If ya have tried those I am not sure lol.

You wibble, you wobble, but you don't fall down.

Every analog avoided is victory for health and all the other reasons you are back to vaping.

I acknowledge your determination and insistence that you will make this change for the better in your life.

Up the nic level, change flavors, add more batts, figure out what hooks you the most in the family dynamics and VAPE ON!!!!!

You are doing something BIG. You quit smoking after how many years?

It's not always going to be a perfect straight line. Some days you won't miss smoking at all, some you'll want a cigarette and resist the urge and, occasionally, you may give in. It's just a slight detour -- nothing to beat yourself up over as long as you get back on track. And you've already done that. :D

Jewls;
Happened to me.
Just start again. Make sure you have extra spare parts, higher nicotine, and maybe a mod rather than an e-cig. I started with mini cigs at 18mg nic. I found I was sabotaging myself with the 901 batteries (short charge and low vapor), and low nicotine. I got back on the wagon with 3.7 volt mods and 36mg nic. Huge difference. It's a learning curve.

Congrats for getting back ON the wagon and PLEASE stop beating yourself up for falling off!

I agree with most people, if you feel that you're not getting enough from the ecig, consider a higher mg of nicotine. If the throat hit isn't satisfactory, get a HV mod. There ARE more options to ecigs than just being an ecig. Go BIG, if need be and YAY for jumping back on the wagon!! Welcome back.

Thanks for being so honest, sticking with the Forum and going back to vaping - Thats HUGE!! Don't underestimate that. Also never stop trying out new coping strategies for dealing with stress and other difficult issues - learning new skills will not only enhance your vaping experience but your entire living experience. While I agree that maybe you might need to up the nicotine dose I wouldn't go there first as that tends to further the "drug-taking" tendencies for dealing with problems - I agree if it is truly a matter of increasing the nicotine dose of vaping versus returning to analogs than so be it, but never give up on exploring other non-using coping techniques to enhance your life. It took courage to return to vaping - way to go!! Absolutely No Need to punish yourself.

You were never on a wagon to fall off of.
I know that's what this forum has led many to believe but the more pressure you put on yourself, the more likely you might go back to the 'other' way of smoking.
Try it again, we all have stressful periods we go through. The important thing is to not feel that you failed anything. There is no contest. Try to vape through it if you can, if you want a smoke have one. There is great support here but you are not doing it for any of us, you are doing it for you. Enjoy the vape and don't put pressure on yourself.
Good luck and don't feel bad.
It's all good, we're all addicted.

Anyone that has quit cigarettes before the e-cig remembers that if you smoked one it was OFF THE WAGON WITH YOU and pretty soon you were buying a carton. This has happened to me twice in the past both times I started back after a year and a half off the analogs. My ex started back after something like 15 years off of them and he smokes more than ever now (I think about 2-3 packs a day now.) At least we now have our ecigs to go back to! Falling off the wagon no longer means staying in the mud on the side of the road for us YAY!

Happens, and don't worry. You still smoke a lot less than you did, don't you?

What could have happened, too, is that you are one of those ~20% of vapers who need more from tobacco than just nicotine. There are quite a few people out there who noticed that after about 4-6 weeks; seems whatever it is is used up after that time, and cravings set in. There are considerably better alternatives than cigarettes, though. (In fact, even pipes and cigars are better alternatives.) Head over to the smokeless section of the forum and have a look around there.

I had that problem after four weeks, but instead of craving cigarettes, I started to crave some age-old snus in my fridge. Don't ask what it tasted like a few years after the due date, but it did help, and these days, I vape and supplement with like 2 potions of snus a day, and no analog in sight.

Dude at least you managed to quit again. It's not easy. I quit for six months. A couple of times I would go out drinking and bum some smokes off of a friend. Then I just bought a pack at the store next to a bar thinking that it was just for the night. That was two years ago and have been smoking steadily since. It happens, sadly.

I have "quit" a few times since but never for very long.

I'm glad that I found vaping it seems to be working really well for me so far. I haven't touched a cig in about a week.

The stress thing is really just an excuse to go and smoke. I've been there.

I "fell off the wagon" awhile ago after 3 months not smoking... I smoked for a couple of weeks, and then I just could not stand the taste anymore, so I switched back to vaping after finding a better alternative system here on the forum... Everyone is different, but vaping is one of the best ways to get yourself off the analogs, imho. Keep trying!
