Hi Hayden
I'm Fairly new myself but your in the right place! I started here by reading other new vaper posts and recommendations. I think the best thing to do is start with any of the basic ego kits and build from there. I wasnt interested in being a connoiseur either but find myself slowly moving towards the quest for the perfect vape.

Welcome and Good Luck!

It is very hard for anyone to make suggestions not knowing anything about what you want, such as do you have to have a cig look alike or can you handle the idea of something say the size of a sharpie marker? Will you be able to fill cartos or a clearo such as the stardust or do you need prefilled? How much do you smoke?

I'm just not too excited to do all this reading.

You shouldn't be on a forum then since 97% of what they are is reading. Deal with it and realize that all that reading you're going to have to do is going make you healthier and save you money in the long run.

Well, you came in at a great time. VaperCon is happening October 12th & 13th at the Clarion right there in Richmond. Something like a thousand people coming through, lots of vendors, juice being passed around for tasting, etc. Drinks, vapes, fun, lots of folks you can actually talk to about vaping.

You can actually go see and handle things in person and decide what you like.

WHERE: Clarion Hotel 3207 North Blvd. Richmond, Va
Friday October 12th the main event room will be open from 2:00pm to 2:00am, Saturday October 13th the main event room will be open from 1:00pm to 2:00am

No need to be intimidated..... every person there was a noob once. Walk in there, tell someone you're a noob looking to get started, and you'll get pointed in the right direction. If you have any friends or family that want to quit smoking, bring them with you.

I bet they won't even make you read anything. LOL

Heres one for you, Walmart has started selling E-cigs by NJOY. The best thing for you to do is get equated to the vapor, They sell Starter kits and non rechargeable in Menthol and tobacco /w 18mg of nicotine. The non-rechargeable costed me 10$. If you like it,(better yet, get liking it for your own good), then you can go off and start buying starter kits, and then start playing around with e-juices. And trust me if you goto walmart and buy that little stick, that flavor is only one(i personally didnt like it at all), there are thousands of diffrent flavors out there to try and fall in love with.

OR i just did some research for you, and you have a e-cig shop in your city!! thats even better =]

Here
I don't like reading, either (and I hate that I write long posts. Also am not fond of getting responses saying "read this" and then crickets). Welcome.

When someone said ego kit, they meant an e-cig starter kit with eGo type batteries (since they can handle many accessories and still have a long/powerful battery life). I love my KGOs, this is the exact first kit I ordered:
KGO 1100 Electronic Cigarette by SLB | The Plume Room

I think a KGO starter kit is the best e-cig for the money. You can say your smoking habits and wants/dislikes, but when it comes down to it, I strongly believe the KGO is the way to go. (The Riva is the same thing as the KGO, and the KGO is an ego/eGo battery, etc.)

See the forum suppliers link at the top of the page? Forum Suppliers List Go here, pick a random vendor, then look at what they've got listed for "starter kits." See something you like? Come back and post the product link here and we'll tell you yay or nay. :)

Howdy,

Been vaping now 2.5 weeks. You are in a better situation starting now than probably 90-95% of us were/are. As JENerationX has said, you're a lucky dawg, you have VapeCon starting in a few days, right next door. I would have given anything to be able to start my vaping by attending an event like that.

Go to VapeCon, have a ball, take some pics, go do the touchy feely of all the new and existing products. Enjoy the taste festival, get gear and juice immediately and probably at some excellent prices. Go have some freakin fun!!

Let us know how it goes.

I know how you feel. I was determined to quit and I read too much stuff and just completely baffled myself. I decided the best thing for it was to go to a Totally Wicked shop and just ask. The guy really knew his stuff and I ended up with a starter kit that's simple to use (Tornado-C) and now I can vape in peace and do some light reading to find out where to find good flavours and soon might start thinking about moving onto tank systems.

Welcome to ECF. Congrats on trying to reduce harm from cigs.

Vaping is harder than smoking. There's more payoff though. So .... IDK. Maybe you can find a vapor and learn more in person if you don't like to read (Like Vapecon mentioned above). Or... maybe just take issues one at a time as you hit them.

You will hit them. And you will probably have to read and search for answers. JUST DON'T GIVE UP.

:)

By the way, any quick suggestions as far as the ecigs are concerned would be WONDERFUL. :)

EGos are good... but I personally would go with a externally chargeable battery because when you are quitting and the battery dies when you are niccing and have to wait hours for a standard stick to charge, you then have a battle on your hands. An inexpensive mod like the epower V2 uses a li-ion 18650 battery that you can quickly change out for a fresh charged one. The battery will last most all day long and charges quicker than you can deplete one, thus turn around time is not an issue... unless it takes you hours to swap a battery... in which case i suggest you step away from the keyboard and head to your local medical facility to be checked for a stroke...

And welcome to ECF. You can find a lot of info here. Just don't go into a brain overload like I did. And most important Don't give up. It's not something that happens overnight. Unless your one of the very very lucky ones. Any way Good Luck.
