Thanks, man. I've been vaping these s_X_d / jasl90 coils for a little while, now. .6Ω is my sweetspot. 
Commie, I saw your post in the "show us your working coils" thread. I was gonna ask how much difference you felt between your spread sample and your tight one.
Difference is pretty big. My sweet spot (with cartos) is 1.7 on unregulated reos. Tight coil at 2.6 ohm feels about the same as spread coil at 1.7 ohm. Same wick, same shape and size of coil, same materials.
Wow, bigger than I thought. When I started with the micro-coils, I was doing .8Ωish builds in my IGO-L and caramelizing the juice.
One more thing that affects how it feels is the tightness of the coil on the wick.
I use cotton, and it expands to fill the coil. If I stuff some silica through an existing coil (I don't like coiling around a wick), a smaller surface of the wire touches the wick and I get stronger throat hit and hotter vape. I'm not sure if Nextel wick is similar to that, but it might affect you.

Yep. That's a good point. I had this "type" of a setup in the IGO with a 10/11 of 29g, and it was hitting perfect. Here, I'm running a little hotter, and learning to goose the REO. I think I'm just hitting the point where that coil wick contact is becoming a prevalent issue. I think I'll give myself a break, drop down to ~1.5Ω and get the squonking habit down; then push the limits and compare (say to cotton). I've found that that swelling effect of cotton is forgiving, indeed; but it also mellows the vape (slower on the kick/fire)
Making me jealous. Mine should be here Monday and I have the same at atty coming with it. I have my 14 Guage needle ready to build myself a coil. I wasn't even this excited about my provari when I got it. I'm frothing at the mouth to try this bottom feeding madness.
