Ever get that feeling in your stomach when you know you've done something stupid?

I have a question about the 510-801 adapter. I put it on my vape stack with my 801 atty (which I've always hated, but at 6v I was just starting to like it again).

I went to remove it and the atty came off, but the adapter stayed. So I tried twisting it off...and tried...and tried. It wouldn't budge. I tried using a cloth, napkin and even slipping an o-ring on it to get a grip. Nothing.

The pliers are out in the shed. I hate frogs and they like my shed. I will NOT go out there at this time off night .

Well, I tried turning it by putting a flat head screw driver in the notch on the connector. This is where it went foul

Is the center part of the connector supposed to twist while the outside stays stationary? Did I just break it?

And yes, I'm gonna get the pliers in the morning to remove it and make sure I don't :censored: up my vapestack.

The center connector is pressure fit with a silicon type material to provide insulation from the outside. Once you get the other bit off you should be able to press it back in and be all good. That's why you can find reference to using the slot in 510->808D-1 to adjust the draw. You actually aren't unscrewing the center just moving it within that sleeve. But since it accomplishes the same thing as if it was screwed together it doesn't make sense to say anything.

Didn't give up. Just had to postpone it til daylight. I have three irrational fears: frogs, large spiders & roaches, I live in the south, so I'm screwed on all three. :)

I stupidly used the screwdriver instead of waiting, and lucky didn't break either the vapestack or the adapter. Even tho I will never put that connector back on the vape stack.

Tried out the adapter on my ego and it seems to work. So I guess I panicked for nothing.
