My delrin screw (I think that's what it's called... the screw that attaches that black plastic piece in the top portion?) won't catch the inside of my Reo. Not sure if it's snapped, stripped, or what, but I think I gotta send this thing away for treatment.

Also, performance is awful, and I cleaned the crap out of it, top to bottom, inside and out, through and through. I don't think the plastic not being attached properly would affect it in the way that it's being affected.

So... bleh.

Yep, sounds like it needs a trip to Maine. Robert can take care of the stripped part and will have it in tip top shape in no time!

Ouch.

you do not need to unscrew that to clean a reo unless you are rebuilding it at the same time. It's a steel screw in an aluminium body and it will strip threads easily if you overdo it.

i clean mine with the cover on and a kid's toothbrush to clean the firing pin, but i like kids with black teeth.

I just soak mine in hot soapy water for awhile, then hose it down heartily under the faucet.
As for the firing pin, I use an emory board but it doesn't work very well. I'm still looking for a little bitty wire brush that will do the job without banging into the delrin insert.
