First and foremost, I will not name names.

Placed an order with a company I frequent on Friday morning and selected priority shipping, the upgrade that costs an extra few dollars. Guess what? Not gonna be here til tomorrow. Last time I ordered on a Friday from them it was here Monday. Last few times I've had regular shipping, no upgrade, it took 2 days to get here. Now this time, it's taking 6 days to get here.

That kind of annoys me, or am I wrong to be annoyed by this?

Yes, I would be a little put out.....but it does beg the question, if you were getting two day delivery before, why in the world would you pay for the extra shipping???

Just sayin......

I think I would be annoyed as well, especially when you've paid money to get it there faster.. and you're no doubt anticipating the arrival..

Maybe the company is overloaded right now (in which case I think it should be posted on their website) and backed up with orders. Also, I've noticed that the USPS has been nice and slow lately.. especially when I am impatiently waiting for juice!:glare:

I would be contacting the company and asking if there's any way to get the extra shipping money back.. couldn't hurt to try! (that's just MHO)

I found myself thinking the same thing after I ordered, as a matter of fact. I think I was thinking that since the last time I ordered Friday and upgraded, it was here Monday. Other times with normal shipping it was mid week. Idk why that made a difference to my thoughts, but for some odd reason it did.

@Lilac: I would tend to agree with you, I probably should see about refunding the extra shipping costs... but honestly, it really isn't worth more of time over a few dollars. If for some reason it isn't here tomorrow and instead on Thursday, however, then I would certainly do that... A week seems a little ridiculous, and for some reason I feel 6 days is not so much... I'll toss the idea over in my head, but since this is the first time I've had any problem with their shipping, I may let it slide. I try not to be a difficult customer (hence no names and this not being in supplier review).

ADD: I'm almost wondering if this is USPS trying to get back at me for leaving a nasty customer complaint (very out of character for me) a few weeks ago about a package not vaping related...

I quit purchasing from a company (not gonna name names either, right now at least) that I otherwise enjoyed because of something similar to this. I payed for Priority Shipping (an extra $5 or so), there was a problem, I didn't get my shipment for 2 weeks, and I didn't get anything extra with my order to make up for it. I could complain about the money I payed for the faster shipping, but it's not worth it. Had they just thrown in $5 worth of juice, or refunded my shipping cost without me having to ask, or ANYTHING extra thrown in really, I would still be a customer.

Well, I think you should check the date THEY sent it. If they sent it out the day you ordered, then its the mail's fault, not theirs.

You should be able to check this if you have a tracking number thats telling you the date it will be there.

Just double checked that.. Placed the order Friday morning, electronic shipping info went to USPS Saturday night, and package was recieved and shipped from their location yesterday afternoon.

I would be annoyed too, but...
You don't really mention in the post is it the company you bought from that didn't ship quickly , or is it the PO that isnt delivering quick enough. Like do you have no confirmation that the company shipped yet, or is it just lost in postal land.
I would really be more annoyed if it is the company that didn't ship it after paying more for an upgrade. I would ask for a refund of the extra shipping.
If it is the PO there isnt much you or the company can do. Unless it was some sort of guaranteed delivery type thing.

Check my post right before yours. This company has always sent out the package the day of my order when I ordered in the morning before. I would kind of understand if it was the afternoon and after they had taken their daily load to the post office... but, not the case... Ordered in the morning, same as I always do... and oddly enough, they didn't take it out Saturday either when usps is open Saturday.... wasn't til yesterday they sent it.:(

Well that doesnt sound bad considering the weekend, if you had not paid for the extra shipping. If I had a customer pay extra on Friday morning I would really try to have it out Friday night. Even when I had a company as a side thing, my happy ... was driving to the po in the middle of the night sometimes.
What we don't know about this or any of the other companies except a few. Is this a company that is a sit here and wait for orders company or is it a company run as a side thing and the owner has another job and maybe isnt "in the office" until after PO leaves. If that is the case maybe they shouldnt offer upgraded shipping.
If this is a one time thing , I wouldn't stress too much, and just think twice about paying extra again. I think we all stress over shipping now that our "fix o nic" comes in the mail , we can't just walk to 7-11 anymore.

You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that I can order something, have it shipped that same day or next, and it takes about 4 days to get here. I can ship something out first class to someone else and it gets there in like, 2 days lol. WTF?! One time, I ordered from cignot and they shipped it first thing the next morning (like they always do :) ) and it took 4 days to get to me. I live 3 hours away from them!! Makes no sense to me! USPS is lame :/

Oh it wasn't for juice anyway (I have A LOT of that:p)... It's just this was a situation inconsistant with all my previous orders from them, which there have been a lot. If it was Saturday I had ordered, not Friday, I would understand even more... but I feel if an order is placed Friday morning, and it isn't shipping Friday, it should be shipped Saturday... I was really just venting my annoyance, this is not something I'm judging the supplier by since I've never had a problem before... Once a supplier gets my loyalty, it takes more than one negative experience for me to stop ordering.

Actually, I would put this all on the shoulders of the post office for one simple reason then. They don't have tracking, it's considered delivery confirmation only. The tracking is a bonus if you want to look at it that way. (Don't though cause it will drive you insane.) I've had numerous packages where they received the electronic shipping after the shipment is halfway across the country, they received it after it got here, they never even heard of the package until it was in my mailbox, etc. etc. Usually electronic shipping info received means that the package was scanned into the post office at drop off, as in the supplier took the shipment with your package in it to the post office on Saturday. After that it enters the postal service's own personal space time continuum and could have gone anywhere between then and now. The Pony Express may have even taken a leg of the journey.

According to the fine print buried in the USPS web site, the typical shipping time for both priority and first class mail is 2-3 days and both are considered late after 5 days. There is no guarantee on any delivery except express and that's debatable. The only thing you and your supplier are paying the extra priority price for is the ability to be driven crazy by their strange package scanning service.

I am beginning to wonder now. I order some juice on 5/10/10 and the company claims they shipped it on 5/11/10 and I've still not received it. I've had several e-cig related orders through other companies (all shipped via USPS) and never had a problem - so I was thinking it was this company. However, now I'm wondering if USPS is involved in some way - dragging their feet purposefully on e-cig packages, or worse yet examining them for tobacco product, etc.

Having shipped a lot of priority mail packages in the past and doing so in a few different ways I can say this for certain.
If I print out a label via stamps.com , usps.com or paypal's shipping thing via ebay I can put your email in and send you an email that says it is uh crap i cant remember the term but basically it makes You the customer think that I mailed it. When in actuality, I can leave it sit around for a day or 2 without mailing it. If it is under 2 pounds I can stuff it in any mailbox and no one is the wiser, it also will not be scanned (most likely) until it reaches its destination. I can also stick it in my suburban outside my house mailbox and the mail man can pick it up, if the lazy ... feels like it he will scan it when he takes it in (usually not). If I walk into the post office and hand give the piece of whatever to the guy at the counter he will scan it. If I stick it in those bins they have now for prepaid , it sometimes doesn't get scanned. So as the PO said it sucks and it is only a delivery confirmation , not any kind of tracking.

You should never not be annoyed when you pay for a promised service and you don't receive it. There seems to be a growing "feeling" from consumers that it's not alright to complain. I understand it. Most people don't want conflict. I know I don't. This is my opinion. I work hard for my money, for a company that makes promises like any other, and when we don't deliver it's my job to make good on those promises or offer a resolution. I expect the same thing when I spend my money. If you paid for express shipping and you didn't receive express shipping you should be refunded.
