I have been having a problem 2 days into my reo experience. Not making good contact at all under the firing button. I've had to sand the positive contact point twice in 2 days to get it to make solid contact. just stops firing. I have to spin the battery to get it to make contact again. when I clean the contact, it works good for couple hours then same problem again.

any suggestions on what's going on?

works amazingly well, when working. getting frustrated already...ugh. :(

When you sand the point, REALLY sand it....be a little rough. Then add Noalox to the point. Sometimes I put Noalox on the nipple of the battery. I'm thinking you're just not sanding the point with enough pressure. Did you get a little packet of Noalox in your initial REO order? If not, you can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot or Ace Hardware.

Hate to state the obvious, could the problem be your battery?

Is the bottom spring base supposed to be turned out towards the door? I just looked through some photos on internet and noticed that mine came with the battery base spun outward quite a bit. I just figured thats how it is supposed to be as it came that way. I took a screw driver and pushed the base so it was centered in the device. Maybe that was causing my battery to sit a little crooked in the mod and making the positive contact hit the side of the nipple on the battery?

seems to be making much better contact now. I'll give it a go and see if that helps.

The springs are not all centered I actually prefer them just above the half way point . I no your contact is still oxidized your explanation is classic . Clean it good 5 or 6 good passes with a file while applying pressure your mod will fire with very little pressure once it is clean

It wouldn't hurt to clean your battery contacts while your in cleaning mode

every battery. (I thought that also). added noalox each time also. seems to be an alignment problem of some sort, unless they come from the manufacturer already needing sanded.

also not a flooding problem. when it happens, it does not fire at all. not getting contact. still working great after spring realignment. I'll see how that goes.

using AW IMR's.

Well, the problem is the top of my batteries slide off the positive contact. It will be hitting great, then stop, so I slide the cover down, and the top of the battery has slid towards the door just enough that it's not making contact. I have 4 AW IMR batts, and several efest and every battery is doing it.

Guess I gotta figure a way to keep the top of the battery from moving.

okay, finally home where my tools and gadget messing stuff is! loosened the positive contact delrin housing and looked under the hood. had some buildup along the metal arm thingy. did a good sanding around the end and applied more noalox. some general clean up and back together. Now it is firing with an "oh so soft push". I think it needed a good cleaning.

Before, as Rob suggested, I experimented with how soft I could push the button to get it to fire. a few times it was just very light pressure. Then the very next push, it would not fire at all, then would randomly fire, then just stop completely. I was getting very frustrated because the same push would not work consistently

we'll see how it goes now. Perfection as I type. I'm sure I'm the exception and not the norm, but took quite awhile for me to get this thing purring, and purring she is!

I took the delrin button covers off mine; i mean the black tops that look like M&Ms - because it was too easy for me to 'mash' them with it on. I'd just lazily slide my hand over the entire top of the Reo and crush it till it fired.

They look good and i like them, but having mangled a few buttons because of my enthusiasm - i took them off and now i never have the problem.

I'd like to say that since then every vape is almost a religious experience - but i'd be lying.

Works though.

I've been putting the buttons on further than the little guide tube that comes with them. Now they bottom out on the top of the mod before I can press too far. Don't mash it on too far or it will bottom out before it makes contact, with a little playing you can get just the length of throw you want.
