UK iclear 30 fakes?!?

I bought an iclear 30 from my usual shop, but could never get on with it, I always thought it was supposed to better.

Yesterday I bought an itaste MVP v2, which comes with a new iclear 30, from a genuine innokin seller, since speaking to them I realise my original one is a fake.

The new one (genuine innokin) There are 2 air channels, on the bottom of the tank, feeding the air holes. The font on the tank itself is black and fairly small, quite hard to read and the vanity collar also has 2 air holes. The coils are 2.1 ohms which is where they are supposed to be, they vape is amazing, flavour fantastic and it guzzles juice! Also genuine products have a scratch sticker with a hidden code, you enter this on the innokin website and it confirms the authenticity of your product.

Now, for the old one (fake) the base has no air channels, the collar has no air holes, so the two tiny air holes almost screw into the thread (not particularly efficient). The font on the tank is white, a little larger and easier to read. Now, when I tested the resistance it came back at 4.8, this was definitely not right, so I cleaned the tank out to have a look. When performing a dry burn I noticed that only the bottom coil was glowing orange, I looked closely at the top coil and it didn't seem to be connected to anything. It pulled out easily, definitely no connection, it was just 4 wicks with a small coil wrapped around to hold them together, the coil was clipped at the wick so there wasn't even any coil to make a connection, this wick and coil was purely there to fool the user into thinking it was a genuine dual coil iclear. Found the box it came in, no scratch sticker, just a qr code, not even sure that innokin use them.

I don't think my supplier knew, I'm taking it back tomorrow. Just wanted to get the word out that these fakes are going about. I'll add some photos soon.

The iclear 30, with the long wicks. It may not have come with the scratch off sticker, I don't really know, I'm just regurgitating the info I was given by an innokin seller. I have emailed innokin support to get some clarity, still waiting for a response.
There is a noticeable difference in quality, I thought the air channels could be a new edition and I just have an old clearomizer, everything seems very suspect.

My new one is full of liquid ATM, I will check though. I read somewhere that one sign to lookout for is the atomiser should have the resistance engraved into the side, this is always on the genuine models. I'm able to see 2.0 ohms (the symbol) on the side of the Atty in my new tank, taken the suspected fake one apart to have a close look...nothing.
I will be getting this changed for something else, I know my supplier won't be happy that she has been supplied with a dodgy product, and any trouble in the past she has corrected.
If I didn't have another I would just buy a genuine replacement atomiser head and keep the tank, but it definitely doesn't perform as well, draw wise. I've just remembered that the first iclear 30 she gave me wouldn't draw at all as the air holes were drilled in the thread, so would be blocked when attached to a battery, definitely a box of knocknoffs.

Yeah I have a shop that opened up around the corner from me that had protanks so I bought one to try. It was terrible and after a little searching I found it was a knockoff so I returned it. I asked them if they were Kanger and they just looked at me like I had 3 heads so I don't think they knew any better themselves.

Long story short I'll never go back there and deal with someone that doesn't even know what kind of product they are selling. Lesson learned, now I know to be more careful and do a little searching before blind buying from new shops. I fear the more popular vaping gets the more half ... shops will open that order the cheapest versions of name branded gear without concern of authenticity just to make a quick buck off the uninformed. Shame for any new vapors that walk into these shops and buy this garbage not knowing any better. They almost got one over on me as I'm rather new myself only vaping for a couple of months now.

Sounds like when I went into the b&m and asked what kind of apple their juice was. It had a picture of a red apple on it. He asked me how many kinds of apples are there. I was about to pull up a list on my phone and decided it wasn't worth it.
