Hi! I need some help! I smoke about one and a half to two packs a day (Pall Mall 100's red box), and have been a smoker over over 30 years. I have to quit due to some medical conditions. I really believe that e ciggs are my only hope, because I not only enjoy the action and taste of it, I am a stress smoker. I looked into the usual 2 piece types because of ease of use and getting scared when I read about the liquid leaking and getting into people's mouths etc. I guess no one on here uses that type? Anyway, I was so psyched, and now I am just so discouraged. I ordered from Smoke Tip (4 different flavors), and returned them after the first day. They did make a lot of vapor, but the taste was disgusting. I also tried Safe Cigg which only comes in tobacco or menthol. Same thing- less vapor and awful taste. Now I am curious-I can't explain what that particular taste is, but both ciggs have it. Maybe the glycol? Do the 3 piece types taste like that too? I don't need a tobacco flavor, I just don't want that awful taste. Is there a decent 2 piece type? I am also wondering, since I am always puffing, to avoid getting too much nicotine should I be using 0 nicotine to fill in when I just want to be puffing on something? An help would be appreciated!

first and foremost... format your paragraph better... lol

basically you will NEVER get a juice that tastes like an analog... you can come close (the closest I have seen is from want2vape)

the two piece set is rather common actually a battery and a carto. it doesn't matter if you have a 2 piece or 3 piece or 1000 piece the flavor won't really change (unless you drip)

Just keep trying flavors and you will eventually find something you like.

as for chain vaping... you don't need to worry about overdosing unknowingly. you will know. you will start to get sick to your stomach, headaches, sore muscles etc. when that happens just put the e cig down for an hour or two.

Now, give us a little more information. what model of e cig are you using? and what juice in what strength are you using?

I have no affiliation with any vendors mentioned here fyi...

lol not sure about the formatting...
I received the Safe Ciggs last week,18mg, and used them for 1 day. They are going back :(
The menthol was not too bad but it just has this funny taste. I see that the liquids are not all made with
the same type of glycol-maybe that makes a difference? I don't really understand the nicotine strengths-is 18mg the amount that contained in the cart? I am so counting on this to work.

Hi Endy! There are so many choices, it can be overwhelming I know. I started with a model 510, then Ego/Riva. Those are common 3 piece models that lots of suppliers sell. Then, I went to a 2 piece model at Vapor for Life or Bloog (or others who advertise KR808 models). I use both types and I like to experiment with flavors.. The 510 and some models with atomizers will leak a bit, and you'll have juice on your fingers, lips...it's just how it is and you get used to carrying a tissue!
The 2 piece models use a cartomizer which combines the atomizer & cartridge and they usually leak less.

Anyway, my advice is to read this forum under the e-cigarette reviews, and also go to youtube and search for e-cigarette. Many many suppliers & individuals have been kind enough to post how-to's and reviews.
Also, I use a variety of nicotine levels, and lots of people "vape all day" so you can go zero or higher as you wish. Enjoy the journey!

18mg means 18mg of nicotine per ml of liquid. 18 is a decent level, most people I know find 12-18 to be good for them (not too high, don't get dizzy/headache/etc, but high enough that they don't feel like they need a cigarette). Some need higher (24 or 36) some lower. There's no magic formula, you have to find what is right for you through trial an error.

I don't know the model you have personally, but in general I find pre-filled carts are normally pretty bad. Depending on the model you should be able to get empty ones, or just use it up and refill with another flavor you buy from someone else.

Sadly, and others will back me up here... the pre-filled carts are almost universally terrible. Start with cheap Chinese liquid, leave it on a loading dock in Hong Kong for who-knows-how-long, and there you have it. Whichever model you settle on, I highly suggest you ditch the pre-filled carts and get blank ones (same goes for cartomizers, the combined cartridge/atomizer... get them empty), and fill your carts with a fresh juice from a stateside supplier. I mix my own, but there are quite a few highly regarded juice suppliers here on the forum.

Hi endy and welcome to ECF!! First things first...don't get discouraged. I started with SmokeTip and had the same issues that you were having. Whatever they use in the prefilled cartomizers is absolute torture to try and vape. I swore that it was nail polish remover or worse.

(For future reference: SmokeTip batteries are a kr808d-1) I'm not familiar with Safe Cigg, but I'm guessing it's still just an issue of whatever is used in the cartomizers.

I can assure you that with a little patience and research, the transition to vaping will get much better:) One of the first things is to check out the Stickies in the New Members forum, they are loaded with information. One great video series is http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/120044-i-made-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html.

We can all help guide you in choosing a great set up once you narrow down what's most important for you. Do you want a smaller model that resembles a cigarette? Are you okay using a larger, manual model? Do you want to use cartomizers or would you rather use an atomizer? There are tons of choices out there. Happy researching!!
