I have been DIYing for a while now and thinking about getting me one. I just have a couple of questions.

What is a good brand to start out with?

How long should I let it sit in the cleaner?

Im looking to spend about 40 dollars. Thanks!

Sorry it's more than 40$. It's what I have, and been using for over a year.

It has heat, runs up to 30 minutes at a time, holds 2 150 ml bottles, and does a good job cleaning atties for a bonus. I usually use 5-8 full 3o minute cycles when I mix juice with up to an hour between cycles.

My juice is usually very vapable the next day after a night with the caps off. It's is the best deal I could find for a unit with heat, which is very effective in speeding up the steep time.

I'm not sure if it is just from what I have read, but I thought that ultrasonic cleaners were proved mostly a waste. From what I understand it is the heat that help speed the process and help the flavors bond (with an occasional shake of course) and seen that many people on here just use a crockpot, or a thermos/solid container with near boiling water and shake it every half hour and change water if needed. They all seem to have good results doing it that way, could save yourself $40. Seeing as you have to reset the timer every 30 minutes, it really isn't saving you any work.

Well I have tried pretty much everything from the crockpot to micro waving it (which does work if done right) and the ultrasonic works the best for me. Nothing beats just letting it steep naturally but Im way to impatient.
If you want to try the micro: For 10ml remove the cap and heat 10 seconds, let cool completely, Put the lid on and shake. Remove the lid and repeat the cycle 3 times.

If you are looking for a UC to transform your juices into heaven, you will be disappointed. Its not a Philosophers Stone. They work as advertised, but I declare - meh. I don't see any advantages over a good thorough mix and some time, and I think time tastes better. The cheapo UC's are hit and miss as far as how long they last. I've had two that lasted just 30 days before they crapped out. After 2 returns, I finally got one that has been working for awhile, but I quit using it for juice. I built a diy mag mixer years ago, dusted it off, and now just spin it overnight and pour it in a bottle. 2-3 days done. I'm not putting UC's down, just meh imo. It's worth 30 bucks to see if you like it though.
