I think with a little effort we can find flaws in most of our Mods, regardless of Origin or manufacturer. Yes Production line Mods will show a higher rate of inaccuracy in numbers.......though not necessarily in percentages.

I feel people draw to many assumption about other countries due to our upbringing and IDEALS, which are nice but only Fly in our own country. Sure you can point out Child labor in China........ AS WELL AS many many other countries.

Claiming such things as poor quality metals, etc. without acquiring specific samples and doing proper testing is HOG WASH.

Yes I have a cheap aluminum bodied telescoping mod that is just shy of Junk, but only cost $12 and still works.
I also have a pair of sigelei 8w Mods, 18350 & 18650 that have a good bit of time on them. They show no signs of Metal fatigue or wear what so ever. Both are actually extremely solid devices and should easily out last me.

People, not countries make Crappy products - Companies and consumers decide just how cheaply things will be made.

Okay, I'm done. Got riled and over stayed my welcome again.

Well, I don't have enough experience yet as a vaper to comment. However, I have nearly 5 decades of experience buying parrot cages. All the wrought iron or SS used in any currently made cage comes from China. I have 2 Chinese made SS cages. I've run some tests to ensure they are 304 SS, and they pass. I'm happy with them, and feel they are safe for my birds.

I only use SS attys. Not brass, not copper, not chrome plated brass. No, I haven't gone from smoking to being a health freak, but I'm hoping I at least am minmizing my risk this way.

Does anyone manufacture steel besides China now? I grew up in Cleveland and the steel mills shut down when I was a kid. Assembled in the US means just that. I'm not sure we actually produce any metal anymore.

Oh, and extruded acrylic sure costs a lot more than cast does. I suspect extruded metal rod isn't cheap either.

Yes, the US still produces a lot of steel. So does Japan and Europe...

Yo... OP...

either post the manufacturer, name of the mod, and what the exact issue is.

Or...

stop wasting everyone's time already.

The only thing I'm getting here is...

I work with electronics
I know about metal
I purchased a mod that is not milled
I'm not going to tell anyone what mod it is, or who the manufacturer is.
People are asking for specifics, but I'm not going to tell them.
Oh... and I know about metal.

I am an electronics engineer by trade, but I work with heavy machinery that is built to extremely close tolerances. Therefore, I know metals.
After purchasing an authentic (to avoid arguments with others I will not name the mod) I suspected, right out of the box, that it was an extruded, rather than milled, tube.

I happen to have access to some phased array test sets. Sure enough, not only was it extruded, but it was also micro spalled.

There is a HUGE difference between US and European metal certs and Chinese certs. Not only in quality and price, but in composition as well.
I do not want to heat, then inhale air that has crossed any metal that was worked in China, nor should anyone else. Never mind the fact the builder made false claims about the quality and source of his materials.

I do not buy clones, and I personally feel that once you copy a logo, its no longer a clone, it's theft. This is worse.

Many of latest batch of modders are frankly charging stupid sums. Anything more than $170 for a tube mod with three tubes is overpriced, but if someones wants to pay it, good for them.

But the whole point of authentics is quality, and to not provide it is a ripoff. I strongly suspect that more than half of the companies that are less than two years old, and charge over $200 are guilty of this.

I so rarely do this on a forum, but in this case I felt this to be extremely appropriate;

Why can't we all just agree that we don't agree with each other. It is possible to have a healthy debate with out any sarcasm or bold and capital letters that imply anger of frustration with someone else. I know this is a forum and you may express your opinion and what you believe as fact but it can be done in a nice and civilised way.

Good point, however, when it comes to the internet many people behave quite differently than they would in person.

I agree.
The only reason to not mention the product or supplier HERE in the general-vaping-discussion forum is because the supplier cannot respond HERE in which case, the post should be made in the supplier forum and I guess it can be linked to here. And if the supplier in question does not have a forum here, then there's no problem.

Back to the original topic:

I paid extra for a mod that was to be built when certain materials using certain methods for my own reasons.

The product delivered to me did not meet this criteria.

I think thatNy of the newer companies are like this....as a matter of fact, from now on, I am going to be suspicious of any non telescoping mod that costs more than $200.

Redacted

Well tho I understand little all this techno garble and I don't want to make light of something I don't understand....... I don't have to worry because all my mods are wood.
