So I called the number, just for sh*ts and giggles, let it ring about 15 times - no answer.
I called them last night and got their answering service.

The lady who answered wanted to know if I wanted information.
I told her I did not, because I don't want to encourage these people.

But I tried to ask her a few questions and she didn't have any answers.
I'll have to call back on Monday during business hours.

It's just another ad in search of ways to make a buck. I remember getting prescribed Chantix when it first came out years ago. After reading the precautions for taking the drug. It seemed to be pretty clear cut and listed just about everything you could possibly imagine as a result of taking the drug, from seeing pink dots to suicidal tendencies.

A few months ago, I seen an ad on T.V. from a firm seeking patients who had been prescribed this drug and suffered the listed symptoms or actually killed themselves.

I always thought, once something is properly labeled, that the manufacturer was protected yet legal action is being sought for that drug.

Anyway, obviously Chantix didn't work for me and I didn't think or try to kill myself.

I am currently logged in to ECF (says "Welcome, JerseyGirl" at the top of the page) and I've got the same advertisement staring me in the face.

So I called the number, just for sh*ts and giggles, let it ring about 15 times - no answer.

The link under the advertisement eventually leads to a website for "Parker Waichman Alonso LLP," a law firm that appears to specialize in class action lawsuits brought against the makers of defective drugs and medical devices. I'm thinking about filling out the "Free Case Review" form on their front page, just to see if someone will contact me, and what they'll say. I'm betting they would, they seem a bit... rabid, hehe...

JerseyGirl--you will continue to see Ads until you have 15 posts and are a "Full Member"--then you will no longer see them unless you are logged out.

Ah, well... that may take awhile... I'm really more of a lurker type, lol.

*returning to hiding*

I'm with you, I've actually seen a bunch of forums that penalize the 'lurker' types by not letting them start threads or post pictures. I don't think this is one of those forums (but I haven't tried)...

...but I'm one post closer to 15 now :)

I believe it is, actually - I wanted to post a question to the DIY Liquid Recipes forum earlier today, but ECF wouldn't let me. It appears I'm restricted to the Newbie Forum for now.

I thought about hijacking a bunch of random threads just to get my post count up, but I guess I just don't have that much to say, hehe. I'm honestly amazed by the folks who just joined up yesterday and already have 50+ posts...
