Got a different clone yesterday, but I don't think it was an Ivogo (different box). The top cap on mine is pretty loose and I'm not completely convinced they drilled the holes for the building rods correctly as they don't seem to line up right. Waiting for the authentic to come back in stock as it's a very nice atty!

My clone does not have these issues. The only issue I have is that the hole for left rod is not properly assigned to the air hole, it is about 0.5mm difference. But I simply move the coil a bit after securing its leads.

the Tobeco black clone i tried works great except the top cap delrin plug or whatever you call it is too loose.
I won't even try using the adapters for the other d/ts. (actually i did try one and it was ridiculously loose; the wide bore d/t it comes with was the only choice at that point.)
Too bad that one thing makes me wonder if the real one sits tight in the top cap.
It is a hell of an rda... everything else is great.
The flavor is great and vapor outstanding. Even single coil.

I took a cotton pad wick and just rolled a pin point and was able to push enough into the verital coil to make a nice wick.

Good news. I think the FT clone I'm getting is made by Inovo based on the SKU # and post from this OP. I am curious though.... how do all of you figure out who is manufacturing these clones? It's a complete mystery to me.

Right behind you...
I've been using an Ivogo Marquis clone for about a week now, fairly happy with it. Delrin drip tip fits a bit on the snug side, as it should I reckon.

Wicking, I take a short piece of KGD about 2mm thick for a 3mm coil, with all four layers intact, roll just a little bit of the tip and slide it down to the base of the juice well, then pull the excess gently down through the coil so that it goes towards the center of the juice well, leaving a little (less than 1mm) fluff on top.

Less cotton in the coil itself is definitely more with this RDA for flavor, before priming it it moves very very freely in the coil. I then fill the juice well with a wispy cotton cloud. Once primed the cotton makes good contact with the coil all the way around.

I've tried the "cut a long strip of KGD, push the middle down through the coil to the base and snip" process like the makers of the authentic suggest, but that almost always results in muted flavors, unless you cut the strip REALLY thin, which makes it a pain to work with at that point, tends to fall apart easily.

So far my simple coil build of choice for this is 8 wraps of twisted 28ga on the 3.0mm rod. With a regulated mod, I prefer single coil ~1.4 ohm build with dual-coil airflow and just throw 25-30w at it for a nice tasty vape, with decent vapor volume, though no competition cloud chaser. It'll chuck about as good as an Atlantis at 30w with that build, and with much better flavor. Don't really like the draw with single-coil airflow, and don't pick up that much flavor in return either.

I'm so happy with the higher ohm build's flavor production and vape on the cooler side I haven't screwed around with going lower resistance, and frankly, I rarely use a mech.

It's good for about 20 drops of max VG when I first saturate it, and it will let you know when you over drip, especially if you pop the drip tip first, over drip, then put the cap back on, air pressure will squeeze excess juice out the airholes.

ukeman -

I had the same problem with my clone and fixed it by removing the o-ring on the delrin top-cap, wrapping 4 or 5 wraps of sewing thread in the space where the o-ring goes, and replacing the o-ring. That allows the o-ring to sit just a bit further out and give you a tight seal.

Got an Ivogo Marquis clone in the post yesterday. I'm really enjoying it so far, vapour production and flavour are both excellent.

I'm going to keep experimenting with coils and wicks, at the moment I've got dual vertical coils of 28g at about 0.5 ohms. Threading cotton through and tucking in the middle gap between coils seems good and easy. I'm happy to see any other tips for wicking anyone has though!

I have one from Tobeco as posted above (black was all they had at the one site) and just ordered another (silver) brand unknown... i figure its not tobeco. Hope not.

but maybe MJMcmahon's fix will take care of the top cap issue anyway.

I will say other than the top cap being too loose (which is NOT good) my tobeco clone is excellent in all other aspects.
