So I just bought a nemesis and im trying to understand the concept of a kick. Im trying to understand the safety features it will provide my mod with. I know it offers short circuit protection but im wondering if it will prevent my battery from firing if the voltage drops too low, similar to how a regulated device like the evod shuts off when its time for a recharge. Im interested in getting the kick from fasttech since its only 9$.

Will the kick protect my batteries and prevent me from having to check them with a multimeter all the time?

What are the benefits to having a kick?

If it makes a difference im using sony vtc5 batteries and a kayfun lite

I personaly would get an actual KICK or KICK2 from EVOLV, I don't know much about the clones. Evolv LLC - Kick Instructions

Yes, it'll shut down when your battery reaches 3.4 to 3.6 volts.

A KICK1 adjusts to 10 watts, and the KICK2 adjusts to 15 watts, so choose according to your vaping style.

Aside from the safety features I like that you get the same hit for the duration of the battery, and if you want to go back to full mechanical it just pops out in a few seconds.

The KICK1 can be bought directly from EVOLV for 20 bucks, so if 10 watts is sufficient that's the way to go. Evolv LLC - Shop Now The KICK2 is sold only at authorized resellers.

The sigelei kick on ft listed as follows:
Details:

•Matching with atomizer in a resistance of 1.5ohm-3.0ohm
•Variable wattage: 5W-15W in 1W increment or decrement
•POR: After power on reset, the KICK will get into the alert status if no atomizer installed
•Low voltage protection (below 3.2V)
•Low resistance protection (below 1.0ohm)
•Short circuit protection
•Match with any kind of SIGELEI Telescope, and most full mechanical mods
Note: Please take out the kick when charging the battery.

So it won't fire below 1 ohm or a short.

The evolv kick to is supposed to output a flat dc volts output so that should be higher quality.

There is also a vv kick:
Details:

•Variable Voltage - can be adjustable from 3.2V to 4.8V
•Tolerance: ±0.1V
•Short circuit protection
•Compatible with most mechanical mods

Please note: Power will automatically cut off after 30 seconds of continued use for safety.
