I was just wondering if I'm the only one who feels like vaping unflavored juice mtl mimics smoking the best. I have been vaping close to 3 years and like many, I started out looking for a juice that tasted like my cigarettes. Some weren't too bad, but not really like smoking. Like most of us, I moved on to other flavors and found that a few that I could vape long term. Fast forward to a couple of months ago when I decided, because of the questions regrading the safety of flavorings, to give unflavored juice a try. I bought a bottle of 6mg 80PG/20VG unflavored juice from Mt. Baker and started mtl vaping it on my kicked mech and carto tanks, that has been my goto for the last two years. It wasn't bad at all. It had sort of a peppery taste as others have said. The more I vaped, the more I was thinking that it seemed more like smoking than any other of the so-called tobacco juices. Another plus, is that since it has such a light taste, I can vape it with any food or beverage and it seems to go much better with a cold one, than the fruity vapes that I've been using. I still switch back and forth, but I'm really rather liking the unflavored juice. Does anyone else think that unflavored juice seems more like smoking or is it just me?

Yes, I do. Flavorings, esp. when I started vaping, just tasted either too sweet (and mostly they are due to vendors putting in a LOT of sweetner in most ejuices, way more than you would use doing DIY) or too chemical like.

I wished I had known about unflavored when I started vaping.

Now I just DIY, by that, most of the time that means unflavored, OR putting 1 or 2 drops of a flavor in a 30ml bottle just for a little something. That explains why I don't have *recipes* I don't need them.

INterestingly back a while ago in 2011 and 2012 there was a company selling what was "basically" unflavored out of the UK. Cignot used to carry it. It was very pure, and very good, and only came in 2 forms, menthol and regular. They stopped shipping to the US and I have now forgotten the name of the company ... maybe somebody will remember. People were buying every last bottle available when they decided not to sell it here anymore. It was made with this REALLY GOOD nicotine solution.

Back then, it was also one of the few 100% VG eliquids around.......so a lot of people who couldn't use any PG loved it.

Believe it or not, 100% VG was almost impossible to find back then. Alien Visions had some and this company I can't remember, and maybe 1-2 others. It was a real hassle if you were sensitive to PG.

I wish I remembered what the company was. but I think now, knowing what I know that it was as close to unflavored as you can get.

^^^^ closest thing in "purity" would be decadentvapours in the UK. They stopped using diacetyls, etc. and all that stuff way back before there was ever any conversation about it. They stilll have some of the best coffee vapes I have ever had.
Plus I really TRUST the purity / cleanliness of their product.

I keep thinking about trying unflavored again. Did it for a few weeks nearly a year ago. Just didn't cut it for me. I want flavor but not really Tobacco flavors, at least not the few I've tried. All tasted either chemicalish or tasted like unlit Tobacco smells.

Then I stumbled across a flavor that's marketed as Tobacco flavor but tastes nothing like the others to me. I find to be a satisfying smoking-ish flavor or smoking substitute tho. Highest nic content available is 16mg so I cut it 50/50 with unflavored and increase the nic level to 20mg. I generally can't get excited about a sweet vape first thing in the morning so this is my go to first vape of the day. If the 120ml bottle I started with ever gets empty I'll probably try unflavored for my wake-up vape again.

Meh, tried non flavored, this kind of thing is for those who don't enjoy vaping and just want to quit smoking and than vaping too.

I myself enjoy every single inhale.. mmm that sweet flavors :3 yumm
That's great that you enjoy your sweet flavors, just like we enjoy our unflavored. I wish you would not make sweeping assumptions about other vapers' likes. I, for one, dont like flavors in my juice, enjoy vaping and dont plan to ever quit and I'm sure there are other vapers like me.

I put 1.5% flavoring in my DIY, just enough to cover the taste of the other ingredients. I don't tire of the taste. I smoked one brand of cigarettes and didn't tire of that, unfortunately. If I was offered all the pre-mix I wanted for free I wouldn't take it. I don't want a gourmet experience. Likewise if I was offered free unlimited coil heads I wouldn't use them. My rebuilding is fast and easy and I prefer the results. Once you get a bit of confidence mixing and rebuilding you might not want pre mix or coil heads regardless of the price.

Me too. One brand cigs, one flavor vape - the juice I buy at my B&M shop only has just enough koolada in it to give me that cold hit that I need to replace the cig TH I used to enjoy so much. Gave away all the frebby juice that came with my purchases.

this is interesting, I was about to think about this, but what I like the most from vaping 1st is the sweet hit from the sucralose, 2nd is the menthol hit, have you guys tried licorice? I think it's the best throat hit in the world, also kindly follow my diy complete guide, the link is on my signature :)

While I didn't smoke menthol much when I was a smoker, the two flavors that I've liked the most do have a hint on menthol along with other fruit flavors and I have thought about trying a touch of menthol in my unflavored. As for the Licorice, I just don't care for that flavor, so I doubt I would like it in a juice.

I'm not sure if I would say that Vaping Unflavored seems just like Smoking? Because I never got into doing Tobacco Flavored e-Liquids.

But it is Much More like Smoking than the Heavily Flavored and Heavily Sweetened e-Liquids I used for a Long Time.

I find vaping Unflavored or HOV (Hint of Flavor) to be More Satisfying than Regular Flavored e-Liquids. And I don't get Flavor Burn Out. And my Wick/Coils Last MUCH Longer.

I Believe it.

Because back when I started here on the ECF, about the Only place I can remember that Carried 100% VG e-Liquids was American e-Liquids.

This is definitely NOT true in my case. I've been vaping, and enjoying it VERY much, for over six years. I like flavors sometimes, but I like unflavored, too. I find it very cleansing and very refreshing. And, I have no intentions of EVER quitting vaping.

I was like that Also the first couple of Years after I started Vaping. And it is what got me into DIY. I couldn't find e-Liquids that were Strong Enough or Sweet Enough. So I Added Flavoring and Sweeteners to retail e-Liquids.

But I Burned Out on it.

Today, I will put a Few Drops of Regular Flavored e-Liquid on a New Wick, and then Fill my Tank, or Squonk Bottle, with Unflavored.

Amazing to me How Much Flavor I can Taste from just a Flavored Wick.
