Hehehe...

OK, not peanuts. :D

Hazelnuts!!!! I finally remembered. I have a bottle of Vapor Station's Frisco--nice tobacco with nutty undertones. I thought they used peanuts, but the description actually says "hazelnuts." It's their version of the 555--and they use Indian flavorings and nicotine, if I remember correctly.

So there. :p

Katya.... I think ya nailed it!

Hazelnuts, um hm, that would be it indeed.

Have you ever tried Frisco? It really has a similar smell. I'm yet to taste the Jerry's VS WTA, but I swear it smells almost the same. It's not the Chinese 555 (Desert Ship) taste/smell. It's unique...

Have not tried it Katya.
You saw my post elsewhere about my new found appreciation with cartotanks. I've been pretty much set vaping unflavored VG fore ever cuz I could never find a flavored liquid that worked for me.

Appears I've a new ball game going so I may just have to start a list of liquids to try now that I can get the flavor of em'!

As for the VS, yer gonna love it!!

Cartotanks are fun. I have a couple of cheap Boge tanks (the F series) and I like them a lot. I just don't know if I would use them with Jerry's WTAs. I have a feeling that the good stuff may get trapped in that filler...

Any thoughts?

I'm curious to see what you think about our VS WTA.

Steeping your WTA for a day might round out the "nutty undertones".

I want to discuss how we select our current supply of tobacco, but I don't want to sidetrack the thread.

All I can say is that our current supply whole leaf tobacco is probably some of the best tobacco I have even seen in the last 5 years.

The sugar and nicotine content with our current supply of tobacco is phenomenal.

Jerry, maybe they're just nutty! I don't know that I've ever tried sniffing the VS wta. I usually like to just vape it. I think it's more effective that way.:p

Well then, nutz to you!

Do you smell that?

Nothing else in the world smells like that son.

I love the smell of WTA in the morning.

I'm working on it. I need a day or two.

I like nutty undertones. However, I'm mostly interested in my MAOIs. :D

I've always been calling the nutty undertone as a woody undertone, but I think I've referred to it as nutty a couple times as well.

At any rate, that undertone is the true taste essence of WTA.

Funny thought I just had... In 2009, I first speculated on isolating WTA from tobacco and soon after achieved the isolation and did the mix-down to a vapable concentration. At the time I had no idea about a very simple and important aspect of WTA... How would it taste? Think about it, we know now that the nutty throat/nose experience is what we should expect from a good WTA, but what if things had been different? What if WTA was just nasty/skanky stuff no matter how carefully produced?

As it stands, I've now formed opinions on two of the three available unflavored WTAs on the market. Gonna wait till I get some WC without the smell to form my opinion on it.

As for the Aroma VS unflavored, I've reviewed it before, but I'll repeat here:

WOW. The classic smooth throat feel and woody-honey throat-taste really shines. Completely neutral to the tongue and nose unless I exhale nasally. Nasal exhalation just moves the smooth woody-honey sensation to the nose. Wholly agreeable.

I've not "cleared" my system of WTA at all, so any evaluation of the effects is going to be somewhat obscured by this fact.

This being said, I still get a distinct feeling of well-being from this stuff. There is no "buzz" associated with it. For that matter, I don't believe that a "buzz" is an effect that a good pure WTA should provide.

The throat hit has no burn to it, not really so much a hit as a nice warm sensation with the woody-honey note taking center stage. The question has to be asked, "What should a throat hit feel like?" I like one that's smooth and fulfilling, and this stuff certainly does that. Some folks might prefer the classic tickly/itchy throat hit. If I went up to 10 watts, I'd probably get much more of the classic throat hit.

My reaction here was sort of, "VAPE... WOW... want MORE... VAPE.. WOW.. want MOAR! .. Vape.. Wow. Want MORE!... naw, I've had enough." Couch-lock ensues.

I am loving this sample!

Here's something everybody needs to understand about WTA. When done right, the throat and nasal sensation must have the smooth woody-honey character that I've described. Any other detectable taste/odor/sensation is a defect. This stuff is done right.

I'd better wait a good little while before I go on to the remaining samples. I'm gonna sit back, contemplate the multiverse, and pet my dog.

Grade (out of 5): 5

Note: Two other Aroma VS WTA samples were also evaluated. Both graded 4.5 stars, not due to any perceived faults, but due to the nuttiness being just slightly less than the 5 star sample.

I should probably define my grading scale:

1 star: Awful (no redeeming qualities, you hate it.)
2 star: Mediocre (You really have to work hard to convince yourself the stuff vapable.)
3 star: Good (Not unpleasant stuff, but rough edges are apparent.)
4 star: Excellent (Really nice stuff, but could be even better.)
5 star: Great (No room for improvement.)

I also had a chance recently to form impressions of the MM unflavored WTA.

A slightly darker liquid than the Aroma VS WTA, but certainly within the realm of expectation for an unflavored WTA. The liquid is thick, as would be expected from a 100% VG liquid. The vape is neutral to the tongue, as it should be. In the throat, the vape leaves a lingering coolness with the nutty note I look for being absent. It's got a throat taste and it's not bad, but it tends more toward an ashy coolness. My wife described it as cigar-ish, and this is perhaps as good a description as I can come up with myself. The impression of the vape isn't that of a warm vape due to the lingering coolness. In it's own right, it's not bad stuff.

It's easy for me to emphasize those aspects that are different from Aroma VS WTA and penalize on that rationale when rating it. I'll try instead to rate in a vacuum as if I don't have a preconception. The lingering cool finish is a bit off-putting for me, and the slight ashy cigar note isn't my thing. So, while nothing screams "bad", nothing screams "good" either. The experience certainly isn't excellent (4 star), but it's also certainly not mediocre (2 star). This leaves me somewhere around the 3 star range with this stuff, and in a vacuum I'll give it 3.25 stars. If I allow my preconceptions to figure in, the rating drops by half a star to 2.75 stars.
