I was interested in starting to mix my own juice, I was just wondering when I buy the unflavored mix...do I get the same amount of nic mg as in an already flavored bottle, or do you usually go higher because it will be diluted with flavoring....or does the nic lvl not really matter, I see a calculator will figure out the drops needed no matter what nic% you get, am I right?

I'm still playing with what lvl of mg is right for me....So far i'm thinking 12mg is my target, got 16's premixed right now, but I think I'm feeling a bit "high" off of these...may need to go a bit lower.

Thanks in advance!!

Hello:)

I buy 60 mg Nic juice and then dilute it to what mg I want. So you need to order PG and or VG to cut it with.

I bought a 60 ml empty blue bottle, lotsa 6 ml squeeze top bottles and a 125 ml of 60 mg Nic juice from myfreedomsmokes. com. Then I made my "stock" in the empty 60 ml bottle by putting in 1 Tbs of Nic juice and 3 Tbs of VG. One tablespoon is 15 ml so I use that instead of pipettes for measuring. So I ended up with a full 60 ml bottle of 15 mg juice to play with. Then I pour that into the 6 ml bottles and add flavoring to those. I get my flavorings and big bottle of VG from Vapor renu.com.

When I lower my nicotine, I think I will order a 125 ml empty bottle and use 1 TBS of 60mg Nic juice to 4 Tbs of VG to get me to 12 mg strength. Then in the next batch, use 1 Tbs 60 mg Nic to 5 Tbs VG and that'll get me to 10 mg overall.

One thing I did wrong initially was I didn't shake the bottle enough with my "stock"! Make sure you shake it a long time when you are diluting a high Nic mg juice down to a lesser mg strength. It doesn't blend well and takes a lot of agitation to make it perfect.

Tyvm for the replies.....I'll try giving this a go and see how I do, I just wanted to make sure I'm not mixing things wrong. I see a few different sites with different strengths from like 8mg all the way to 100mg...and it was confusing me, why would someone that DIY get a big bottle of 8mg nic juice....wouldnt that bring them down to almost no nic content in the end?

Ok, so as I'm looking deeper into this another question popped up. The main items needed are Nic base, dilutant and flavoring right? Nic base is already mixed with PG or VG right? So if I bought a Nic base with say 80/20 PG/VG the way I want it.....I still have to dilute it further? This would ruin my already mixed 80/20 nic base solution no?

Everytime I look at a site ready to make my purchase....something else pops up that seems to ruin my reasoning lol. Am I over analyzing the format?

Stringboi the best place for info is to head over to the DIY section and read the stickies. It has helped countless people get into DIY. Try the e juice me up calculator from Breaktru. I use it all the time. Best of luck and DIY is the only way to fly. The options are endless and there is the whole personal satisfaction of vaping your own sauce. It really is the pinnacle of this hobby!

I understand how to use the calculator...I have actually downloaded that particular one, but what I'm not understanding is when you want to mix both PG and VG in your equation. I only see one area to add ONE of these in, not both. If my nic base is PG and add VG as my dilutant...it doesnt add up to the 80/20 ration Im aiming for does it?...therefore something is missing from the calculator to get the desired mix no? Am I creating more steps for myself than I'm ready for lol?

Here is what I do. Buy 100 mg/ml PG nic, bottole of USP PG & Bottle of USP VG. 6 mls of PG nic, 34 mls of USP PG and 10 mls VG. Gives you 50mls of 12mg/ml 80/20 mix as a base solution. if you like strong flavoring and mix at 20% (say .8ml base .2ml flavor) you end up with 1 ml of 10mg/ml juice. Now you need to factor in you flavorings liquid and if they are all PG then adjust your base to something like 75/25
