Unwired atomizer and dripping

Hello!

As you see, I'm new to this forum Started e-smoking 2 weeks ago, 'hell yeah'.

As introduction: Smoker for about 4 years, 1 package a day. No switching to e-smoking, not yet fully atm, but I'll get the analogs lost soon I've bought 4 replica's of the M401. I know... They are chinese and so... But these are meant to be my starters.

Well, I was looking around and found a lot of usefull things for cleaning and so on. But one thing doesn't come clear. My atomizers have a wire in it and I found a lot of people pop out the wire and have a positive outcome.

Here's my problem; first of all, someone who knows why the wire is there? Some say its for the liquid, others say it doesn't make a difference
Second, when I pop out that wire, I'll need to switch to the dripping. But I was just wondering, where do you have to drip on? The bridge? The heating wire? Sounds stupid, but I can't find anything :s

Do you mean the wick? If you take a wire out then you're atty will cease to function.

The wicking material is there for the juice. The wick draws the juice down to the coil and keeps it nice and wet. The atty will work without the wick, but you won't be able to use carts anymore. I don't bother with removing the wick or the bridge. It just doesn't make that much of a difference to me and just increases the chance that the atomizer won't work anymore.

Well the wick is turning black. Along the internet I found messages of people that removed the wick out of a 'dead' atty, and mostly get it back to work... But could I use by removing the wick and dripping the bridge? Or should I remove both and dripping the coil?
