I have seen ther merit of both ways discussed here.

On a model with an automatic battery I think battery up would be the best. Less likely that juice will flood the atty and seep into the battery. However, you have to be careful on your first draw after storing it that way for a while because you could get some juice in the mouth.

For a manual battery model, I think battery down is best...............

Thanks.

I found out how easy it is to get a mouthful of juice...

I also discovered that I can use a nail (couldn't find a skinny screwdriver) to rip off the extra little piece of plastic at the bottom of the cartridge. There's an extra wall of plastic in there, I still haven't figured out why.

If there's any goo in there, my pinky nail is just long enough to run a cloth in there and get rid of it. If no one is looking, my shirt or pants cuff will do.

I don't suppose you know why that extra little chamber is there, other than to fill up with goo and try to poison me?

I've certainly found it matters, and with a full cartridge, I go battery side up.

But after even one or two drags, I'll generally go battery side down to accelerate the wicking action. But if you only take a drag every now and then, putting it down on it's side will probably be just fine once the cartridge is no longer full.

If you have a 901 with the hole in the battery, - it's a no brainer, - battery up or lay it on it's side. Bttery down and eliquid WILL migrate into the battery and short it out so to say. Worse, my experience is that when the battery is in it's death throes, it begins to over heat the atomizer and so 2 birds are killed. I was storing mine in my blouse pocket, mouthpiece up because I didn't want to leak liquid on my clothes. Instead I've spent a fortune in 3 months on atomizer and battery replacements. Next electronic device will be a 601 pipe. That battery looks like it could power a Rock Concert.
