so, experts, let me throw this out there.

as i was wasting my breath explaining the Pyramid Teabag material to my gf, she told me it looks like "tulle."

well, she's a practicing wedding planner, hence the knowledge of decorative fabrics...and well, i got to looking...

seems there is Tulle fabric that is made out of nylon.

i just started googling, but one quick search here...

http://www.fabricdirect.com/acatalog...ith-tulle.html

now, i don't know all the details yet, so no quoting...but if this IS the same type of material used in the pyramid bags...and could be used for carts...this may be the "new" answer to quantity.

Hi Flitzanu this link below says no, but I still use them and haven't experienced any kind burnt taste in my 501 for over a week now.

Just my opinion mind ya, but I consider them my best bet until something organic and better comes along. :)

yes, mullolley, that's the thread i was referring to :) the Pyramid bags seem to work great, i was just hoping to find the material in a bigger quantity than just 20 teabags :)

I'm with you on that Flitzanu! :)

Perhaps someday we'll run across someone from a Lipton factory and see where they get it from. ;)

Quoting the supplier:
Features
TBF is the subsidiary material of pyramid Tea Bag. It is made of nylon mono mesh for foods. so it is not torn when it get wet. TBF can make better water flow than existing pulp materials. We can cut TBF to 120mm, 140mm, 160mm and other specific width using the newest slitting machine. Our TBF also can be well joined and cut at ultrasonic machine which is included in other company's Tea Bag packing machine. Our TBF is stable against heat and have very high durability.
End Quote

They might just cut it so it's the right width to begin with. Looks like you could fill thousands of carts with a role like that.

Made an inquiry as follows:

------------------------------------

Hello,

We have found this material to be suitable for one of our project designs.

Still doing research and development on it, we hoped to use larger samples.

In regards to further testing, what would the cost be for the smallest roll be.

Best regards,

XXXXXX X. XXXXX

-------------------------------------

Now... We'll just have see what pops into the email inbox. ;)

(Fingers Crossed) ;)

I just posted in the mod section, that i tied using a web/net by mistake and it works much better than anything i tried.
The net is a bag for fluval filter media.
Silly me , i was trying to buy fluval (the fluffy stuff) , and ended up buying the bag instead.
The net is springlike, so it always presses up against the atty.
It absorbs liquids really well as well as distributes it perfectly.
It's the best i have found so far.

stehle, any update on the email yet?

Not a peep yet Flitzanu! I even used my business email address, so it looked a bit more official and also checked to see if anything was in my junk mail.

Perhaps they're just used to selling thousands of rolls to various larger manufacturers (Like Lipton®) and are not into dealing with smaller up and coming companies.

Oh well it's Korea... what did we expect. ;)
