I really like the tea bag trick. They do wick much better and when it seems to be dry I just flick my PV and it's like dripping. The liquid seems to just drain onto the atty much better than the poly fill material. I also like the idea of not inhaling that burning plastic. I would pull the cart off after four puffs and it would look dry on top. I could only add one or two drops. With the tea bag it just keeps on going and always looks wet when I pull it out. And I haven't tasted that nasty burning plastic taste at all. Nice info people. Thanks...

Probably cool MC, but it does look rather pricey.

If you think about it, at least in my cupboard anyway there is more than half the 24 in the box left. (Most of those were used experimenting with different methods and cart models), I have been using them about 3 weeks now and we all must know by now how reusable (rinse, dry, refill) they are. They do last a long time.

Okay, lets recap shall we..

Lets say I use 10 a month at a cost of $3.50 a box of 24

It would cost me roughly $1.50 a month to keep me in great cart refilling shape.

I like that figure.

Of course... I do drink the tea. ;)

I have to agree... I was just thinking it would be cool to have any size I wanted to cut... but I have to agree... the cost is next to nothing... and I also have about 10 left and I am still re-using the originals... they work GREAT!!!

first post from a newbie. thank you all for providing so much info on this wonderful device.

i currently have a 510 (set of two) + extra batt.

have tried some standard tea bags and like it much better than the cart material (plastic taste echhh) you can really notice the difference after the switch to tea bags.

i couldn't locate any lipton pyramid bags but remembered that "mighty leaf" bags are also some kind of poly material. so i gave it a shot and WOW! i can't believe how much easier the draw is and how much more vapor i'm getting.

has anyone else tried this brand? wondering if there is anything different vs the lipton material.

vape on!

ok. did some research on the mighty leaf pouches. they are silk. so...that's bad. i took about 10 or so puffs. the last few had some slight taste to it that i thought strange.

took it out. replaced with regular tea bag material.

silk=bad. i think toxic.

hope i didn't damage myself. heh

PTB are sold in most grocery stores and Super Wal-Marts.

Here is a link to know what to look for:

Lipton® Pyramid Tea

Google for other sources.

Hope this helped! :)

thanks. i've found lipton tea bags at all the stores i visited. just not the pyramid type.

will keep searching.

just a thought. if i just used the silk as the base and the regular teabag material near the atomizer. wouldn't that be safe as far as not burning the silk?

I find mine at safeway out here in nowhere land... but mine cost almost $5.00 for the box of 20... It is still a great value when you think of how often you can re-use them...

I use almost a whole bag for a 801 and about half of one for my 510 I crumple fold it (like curtain or billows fold... I would take a picture but don't know where the camera is.) It works great... I have noticed in my 801 that I cant crumple fold to much so I put just a bit of poly fill in the very bottom of the cart and then the folded tea bag on top of that... all it does is make me not use as much tea bag in the cart.

Did any of this make sense???? I tend to ramble...

Perfect Sense! :) I just retired my first PTB after more than 21 Days!

Still no sign of an answer to my inquiry yet. :(

We may have to peruse alternate ways to acquire the PTB material in bulk.

(Hmmm... Korea... what did we expect?)

Okay, I finally got a reply to my inquiry for bulk PTB material :

I'm not going to a put lot of my hopes on that reply, but if your still interested and still want to peruse this further I can provide an email address (Please PM me).

I am very happy paying less than a dollar a month for PTB from the grocery store. (I still haven't used whole box going on 4 weeks!) :)

PTB is an acceptable choice for me as cart filler medium.

I believe it to be one of the best and... PTB still rocks my world!! ;)

Thanks! :)

The question is, what will we do if Lipton ever decides to stop selling these little pyramid babies?

Lets hope that's not for a while. Plus they seem quite popular. :)

In other threads, some have found a material that resembles the Lipton pyramid bags. This material is Organza and it is found in fabric stores.

Brandon

I guess a standard procedure would be to buy, try and report back. :)

Well, I switched back to the polyfill. Perhaps it's the 801 cart that just doesn't play nicely with the PTB's, perhaps it's just me! I wouldn't rule the last one out, that's for damn sure :p

One thing that I did find is with the PTB's I just couldn't get it to dry out very well, there always seemed to be a large excess of liquid trapped in the wrapping of the PTB's. There must be 7-8 drops locked in there, seems like a lot. Its much harder to get it back out, versus putting spent polyfill in a syringe and squeezing out the excess. Maybe it was too tight? I dunno, I must have spent 20-30 hours trying to get it right before I threw in the polyfill lol.

Kudos to all of you who are getting great results from it. There is for sure a need for a better solution to cart filler, or maybe we all just need to find a consistant measurement of our filler to get the best results.

Keep vapin' and learnin'

PTB for the serious Win!!! Holy Vaps, I replaced every single cart with these... You ACTUALLY can smoke everything out of this lil gem!! Seriously, Round tips/wistle tips are like bone dry... You have to really refill the cart when your done with your 1 millionth hit :p. On the real, this is by far the best fuctioning mod for carts ever! Only speaking on experience and the two seprate carts I tested them on over the last 4 hours... Im impressed! (with that said...it doesnt take much J/K!)

Great find to whoever tryed this and shared, Thank you!
