Still 10 but, don't update the device if you have one. Mine is messed up. Many people are having problems. I am just using my mvp and tree of life right now. T5 was pushing out mega power to where you could not even hit it on my tohb. Thing is heating up like mad. I turned it off and set it aside. I am afraid to use it right now. People are melting their devices. FB, Redditt, and their own forums have people complaining about it. So I am being safe rather than sorry.

Yeah, I might of gone over the limit with my tohb but, my kayfun mini was getting so hot you could not touch it. So I know that was not the issue. I am sad but, at least I was able to catch it before it blew up my device like the others. I am sure they will fix it but, I would not do the update until they do. I like the device but, piss poor management of the release of this update pisses me off.

Well, the good news is, mine is still going fine, though as point out, it does seem like it's hitting way way harder than it's supposed to be, though after that initial pulse it seems to level out fine, but still high. It doesn't heat up either, though I've kept the wattage turned down to 10 watts on my kayfun, though it's hitting like it's probably double that at least.

On the other hand, I did just notice another problem. It looks like the battery meter is screwed. Before the update I could swear it was at around 45 percent. After the update it showed 84 percent. I wasn't really paying attention the rest of the day, paying more attention to the temp, but I do remember thinking the battery life was really good. But it just went to zero and stopped firing. Plugged it in to charge and after a minute noticed the meter was only showering one block. Pulled it off charge and it shows 84 percent again. So it looks like, at least on mine, that anything above minimum shows 84 percent while dead shows 0. Nothing in between.

I hate to say it, but this really is a huge fail. They had to test this firmware, how the hell could they not have noticed these things? It just doesn't make sense.

I can testify that I have the new update installed on my T5 and it appears to be working just fine. Battery life is better, had no issues during the update, and my magma hits like a champ on it. Cranked it all the up to 75W and vaped for a while without any issues, dropped it back down to about 32W though (75W is a bit of a hot vape for me lol.) So far I am happy with my $70 purchase on the T5, but I will let you guys know if it suddenly becomes aware and tries to burn down my apartment in the night. ;)

We notice the recent upgrading problem from users, and we find there are conflicts between the new software & the T5 procedure.
Please give our company 48 hours to release a new software which will help the broken T5 BACK to original T5 and work perfectly.
We feel very sorry for this...
From FB. I am keeping eye on it. Nothing on Reddit.

Hrmmm I find it "odd" that a firmware update can increase the power output. The circuit can only do what the parts in it can handle. So either the original release wasn't driving the components to the max or the new release is just changing the display and counting on the placebo effect. Just a thought. I'd love to see a before and after on a scope...

So here's the latest that I can gather after a few emails back and forth with "Maggie" at Cloupor. From what I gather (it's kinda difficult understanding with the language barrier) the firmware they originally had worked fine in their testing. However, I don't know exactly what happened, maybe they didn't test the updater properly or what, but apparently that's where the breakdown occurs. When it flashes the chip it's corrupting the code. So the issue isn't really in the firmware itself, but rather the update process.

That's why they haven't just slapped the "old" firmware back up and instructed everyone to downgrade back to the original firmware. Because that would fail as well and who knows what the results of that would be. You'd have to use the same firmware update software (the Cloupor Elve) to do the update, and it would just corrupt the update just like it did the new one.

Again, that's what I can gather if I'm understanding her correctly. So at this point it sounds like they are trying to get the update software to work correctly so that those who still have a working unit can go "fix" their chip by flashing the proper firmware (probably either new or old) and get the unit working the way it's supposed to.

But the bottom line is, the upgraded units, even if they are still working (as is mine) they are NOT functioning the way they are supposed to, and in many cases has resulted in catastrophic ends. Cloupor says you should stop using your T5 immediately if you've upgraded, until they release their fix... EVEN if it appears to be currently working.

Yeah, I was guessing it was something like that. I will just hold on to my device right now and not take it back. The shop I got it from I don't think has many 50w above mods. I will stop by them on the way home just to check though. I want to talk to the owner and give him a heads up since I know he does not sell many of them.
