A timely question since we are currently in the process of finalizing the move of our email system from Constant Contact to CQRC, so I'm up to my eyeballs in database management. (<------best smiley ever.)

60,664 as of right this moment. :)

Obviously, we've been growing our numbers substantially during the last year, and in particular the first several months of this year. Now that state legislative seasons are winding down, we expect the rate of our growth to slow a bit as well. Even so, I'm hoping that by the first part of next year, we'll be at 100,000.

I believe that when the FDA releases the Deeming Rules/Regs, that that 68K number will Double in 1 Week.
I've always felt that when the deeming regulations come out...
The whole vaping world will finally wake up...

I sure hope so anyway.

I want to see a few of these, or maybe 35 of them...

I think when the Deeming Hits, that Many/Most will Finally Wake Up.

I just hope it Isn't Synonymous with waking up and finding that your house is Fully Engulfed in Flames.

And I would have Liked to see More People Wake Up while there was just some Smoke in the Air and a Fire which may be Containable.

Can't say we didn't try...
:sigh:

I think that is the Kick in the Gut to those who have Tried.

But it Isn't Over Yet. And I'm not ready to Lay Down Arms on Many Issues. Because I still believe that Some Things can be Saved/Maintained.

When are the alleged regulations going to happen? Maybe they gave up...
Come on Steve, you don't really think the regulations aren't going to happen do you?

You may believe they won't be as harsh as other think they will be.
And you MAY even be right, and I hope you are.

But they are going to happen.
For sure.

It's really just a question of how bad they will be.

I'm guessing the regulations will eventually lead to no flavors and no online sales.
And probably a limit on nicotine strength as well.

And that's not even getting into the effect it will have on devices.
Which could be devastating if they even go there.

But of course if they go after "open systems" or nicotine base...
Then things can get ugly real quick.

I though the deadline was June, then July. It is now August...
If/when they happen, my guess is labeling, packaging and age restrictions...

The "no flavors" thing is the really ......ed thing... the flavors are a HUGE! motivating factor -- when I tried Blueberry Muffin, it wasn't long at all before Virginia tasted like total crap! And I know that if I were to try a real cigarette at this point, it would taste even worse!

I love @classwife 's sig line: "I LIKE flavors! GET OUT OF MY BUSINESS!!"

If you want, you can even extend that reasoning back quite a few years.
On that I will not dispute you.

I guess that is why after five years of trying, my gut didn't want to be kicked any more.

But I'm still holding on to this...
The 5 stages of vaping | E-Cigarette Forum

Well, basically, I'm still holding on for that 6th stage to happen.

I think what I find So Disturbing with Many Members when approached about getting Active is the Mindset of... "I Can't do Anything Now because I Don't Know what Exactly is Going to Happen."

Hello? Are our Opponents taking this Same Approach? Are they Ideally sitting back and waiting for Deeming to hit before they Organize and Contact their Reps/Senators and their Money Givers?

I'm Not Sure why I need to Wait for the FDA to present the Deeming Regulations before I can Contact my Representatives telling them that they should Not Support,

Limits to Nicotine below 36mg/ml
Arbitrary Bans on Flavorings
Closed System Cartridges

The government shelled out $millions for 5+ year studies. The FDA won't do anything drastic until those studies are completed...

I must have missed that thread somehow...

Can you provide a link?

I think it was from last year, but I will check. People were in an uproar because they were spending $millions for the studies and were saying they would find exactly what the FDA wants them to...

Here's one such study. I guess the grants were posted last year and now the money is starting to go out-

The University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention will do a multi-year longitudinal study where researchers observe two groups of people: those who smoke only traditional cigarettes and those who smoke both traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes, Doug Jorenby, co-principal investigator, said.

Here is the grant framework itself-

Here are some of the grants issued-

Grants: Research Portfolio ‒ FDA NIH Tobacco Product Regulation | NIH Office of Disease Prevention (ODP)

And how Exactly does this Effect the Timeline for presentation of the Proposed FDA Deeming Rules and Regulations?

They won't do anything drastic until they review results of the studies. It could go the other way and they ban everything until the studies are complete, but I doubt it...
