This is not a "What is the best mod" thread. I just want people's opinions. I can make up my own mind. I just don't know every mod out there.

So my first mod after my Evod twist was a Vapor Shark rDNA 40. I also have a Vaporflask DNA40,\ since I love the DNA40 board. I have tried the Invader Mini, and like it for when I go out hiking/rafting, but it is one of the most inconsistent mods I've used.

I've been using the DNA40 for over a year, and don't regret buying it at all. But I'm starting to get more into sub-ohm tanks, as well as RTA's, so I am looking for a mod that can put out more than 40 watts. I also want to move onto using temp control more often than kanthal.

I've looked at the sigelei 150TC, but turned it down because it doesn't have a charging port. I've also thought about the SX mini M class, but why spend $200 on a mod that only gives me 20 more watts. The DNA200 looks great, but seems a little more complicated than I'd expect (I'm not big into using the programable parts of it). However, if it is not as complicated as I think, what mods have you guys had good experiences with? I'm leaning toward the Lavabox

Are there any mods that you guys recommend as an upgrade from the DNA40? My main requirements are at least 100 watts, a charging port, TC ability, preferably 2 batteries (equivalent battery life), not huge (no bigger than the Vaporflask). Price is important, but don't worry about holding back on ideas because of that. Also, I won't buy IPV. I just don't trust that company

That's good to know. How simple is it to use? Also, I'm getting concerned about these new regulations people are talking about. My first instinct is to pick up a new device before they are banned, but if I do, what happens if I can't get juice easily. I'll have just dropped $200 on something I wont be able to use.
I've tried sifting through google and some government websites, but nothing seems to provide a full account of what will be banned, or who will be able to continue making juice. I already have a few RDA's and RTA's. And I know that wire and cotton will never be banned, but none of that helps if there is little or no juice to vape

I run a Mac. Is the software compatible?
Have you tried any of the other DNA200 mods? I have been leaning towards the Hcigar or Lavabox for their looks. Also, I don't know much about the battery they use. Ay insight on safety? I never drop my mods, but sometimes they bang into things while in my pocket. Never too hard, but there are always horror stories. I tend to be extra safe when it comes to batteries, so I like to stick with those that I understand how they work

Just so you know, with the latest firmware update, the SX Mini M Class is 75 watts max in all modes. And the SX 350J Vapor Flask is 100 watts (though it's also $280).

If you're wanting to stick with Evolv and keep using 18650s, there's a dual-18650 DNA200 Boxer (133 watts, light, short, but thick), and the Wismec Reuleaux (3x 18650s giving it amazing run-time, but being zinc alloy it's probably heavier than you'd like, and it's kinda thick).

Regarding both the Lavabox and the Vaporshark DNA200, both will have abysmal battery life if you're using them at higher wattage. The 900mAh LiPo in them has roughly the same run-time as a single 18650.

Another alternative that fits the "small, light, dual battery, more wattage" criteria is the iJoy Asolo 200w. That can be had for below $70 if you shop around, is about the size of a VaporFlask, has a great battery door, works fine in all Ni200/Titanium/Kanthal modes, though Kanthal "burn protection" is a bit spotty, but you don't need to activate it. But lack of USB charging probably rules it out for you.

I already have a vaporflask DNA40, too. Who makes the one with the SX 350J? I might try and contact them to see if it would be possible to gut mine and put that chip in it. I noticed that the +/- buttons are different, but who knows.

I've seen the Reuleaux and Boxer. Even though I'd love that extra battery life, they are too thick. The reason to need extra time is if your out of the house and away from a charger. If it isn't comfortable in my pocket, it doesn't matter how long the battery lasts.

I generally don't vape under 0.5 ohms unless I'm using Nickel (haven't gotten around to trying SS or Ti yet). So I typically don't need more than 35-40 watts. And even still, I normally build my RTA coils to be around 1.2, or use the 1.2ohm pre-built heads for my Subtank mini and SiloBeast. Only my RDA's are below 1 ohm. I understand that a DNA 40 board gives me the power I need, but the one I have is the very first version that came out. I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have those screen issues, but I have been noticing some problems with it reading in temp control consistently. And when I sub ohm, both the tanks and the tp of the mod tend to get hot rather quickly.

I wouldn't let that stop you. I was nervous when I got my first dual 18650 mod (Sigeli 150w) coming from built-in batteries. I personally won't go back to a built-in unless its a DNA 200 with the Li-Po pack. It's awesome being able to vape until cutoff, then just pop in 2 charged batteries and be good for another few days. I love my Sigeli 150w TC, BUT... I'm not 100% sold on the TC part. I've only used Ni200 coils for my Kanger SubTank Plus for less than a month. I was able to get a couple of very scratchy hits (not even chain-vaping), BUT I'm very new to TC so I could be at fault 100%.

Vaporflask makes the SX Flask, at the same US mill they used for the DNA models. They have stopped making DNA flasks themselves, they farmed that out to Vaporshark, who makes them in China.

There's no easy way to modify a DNA40 Flask to support the SX350J and it's not something Vaporflask will do for a customer. There's significant changes internally between the two models, along with a revised top plate to accommodate the larger screen on the SX350J.

I don't like built in batteries either, and I would never want to go back to one. I just like the zip charging of the VS rDNA 40. And the Flask DNA40 charges both batteries evenly. I've checked that multiple times on my charger to be sure it was safe to charge them with the USB port. What I like about the method is that I can vape while charging, and I only have to carry around a USB cable instead of batteries.
That said, I do use a mech pretty often, so I always have extra batteries on hand. But when I go out places that I don't feel like carrying a big charger, I like to just be able to plug my mod in and charge it on a wall socket, or my computer. And if I'm out for a few days, I don't want to have to carry half a dozen batteries and then have to wait 2 days for them all to charge when I get home (my charger only have 2 slots)

I've started giving the Sig 150 tc another look. I like the design of it, and I love the dual batteries. I like simple mods. So I really dont think I need anything as fancy and customizable as the DNA200. That said, I think I'm looking at choosing between the sig 150 and SX mini m class. What are the major improvements from the sx 330 chip that the 350j has. I don't care about presets, or the gravity sensor. And do you think it's worth waiting to see what new dual battery sx350j mods come out. I am kind of nervous about waiting, because I don't know when the FDA rulings will go into effect. But I don't want to be impatient and jump the gun. I'm not made of money

I just got an email the other day notifying me that Smok was coming out with the X cube mini 75w tc mod. I have not experience with the x cube 2, but I have heard good things. But I held one once, and I didn't like the feel of the fire lever. But it sounds like the mini took care of some of the issues.

i know that the mini goes against my desire for a dual battery mod, but it does look intriguing. Does anyone have experience with the sx mini m class, Sig 150tc, and the x cube 2, and could give me a brief comparison of your thoughts? Experience with 2 of them would be welcome, too
