Anyone other newbies make an upgrade after finding this forum? Share models and stories.

Prior to finding the forum I bought the mini being sold by 7/11 (XHale 02). It made me a theoretical convert to vaping, but was just too expensive (the carts needed replaced every 2 hours). I found the forum and started refilling the carts -- so glad I did or I would have tossed the thing. The vape was pleasing to me at the time, though I noticed my cheeks actually got sore from how hard/much "sucking" I was doing. The hit was totally inconsistent but I assumed that to be normal.

Then I ordered an eGo-T. It arrived two days ago. Reaction when I took my first draw: Oh my god so this is vaping? Pleasant flavor, don't have to suck on it like a milk shake, tons of vapor. So happy.

No leaks yet, glad I made this choice. And thanks ECF!

I have this crappy gas station ecig called "Cig2o" I think it's supposed to be a pun off h2o or something. When I first bought it. It's was bad, however still smoke-able. So I've been smoking this thing for about 2 weeks. Avoided quit a bit of analogs. I have been throwing cartos out as well. I ordered this ReVolver Infiniti Ion thing and it just arrived yesterday. While browsing ECF I found that I could actually refill the cartos. I made a post about my revolver and a new friend redirected me to a much better model who, in his opinion, thinks it will satisfy much better than the ion. (because that Ion was gross) I immediately called revolver and they told me just to try it and if I still don't like it just to send it back and they'll refund me all my money. So I just refilled all the gas station cartos I could find (27 wooo!) and I'm bringing it back to USPS on Monday to have it sent back. Hopefully my new mod will be here on wed/thur of next week!

I'm not a newbie anymore but I started on M402 and M401 which I think are like Xhale-02 though I bought manual. But the teensy cartridges were a pain so within 3 weeks I shopping and got both manual 510 and manual V4L KR808D-1 which I still use (all manuals because I was already here reading stuff) and cartomizers for both. About 6 months in when I was about to drop my nic again, this time to 6mg, I bought a 3.7v Riva 510 kit (the latest Eastmall kits are 3.7v, Liberty-Flights.com has them). Any additions since then have been functionally similar to the Riva (3.7v plastic box mods, one 3.7v wood mod, a 3-stage Ego battery which I usually use a 3.7v).

I started with an eGo mega kit and it's been great but barely had it a month and a half before I wanted something more. So I've ordered a Lava Tube after doing a fair bit of research. I knew I wanted something VV and tossed up between a Buzz Pro, a Diamante and a MadVapes VV Box Mod, then I saw all the discussion about the Lava Tube and after watching a few reviews decided to go for it. Can't wait till it gets here!

ECF has been invaluable in researching mods and batteries as well as things like atomizer cleaning. (Love the baking soda, vinegar trick!)

When you move up to 5 volt vaping such as a good 5 volt box mod or the 5 volt GLV 2 or to variable volt or power regulated vaping such as the Darwin, etc, you will have the same reaction you had when you went from the 7/11 model to the eGo. Warmer, fuller vapor and much better consistency.

For my wallet's sake, I plan to wait several months before another upgrade -- but I look forward to re-experiencing the "first time" again!

My first ecig was a 21st Century brand disposable from the discount smoke shop. Those look like an analog, except significantly bigger. At that time I was more concerned about the "looks like a real cig" aspect, and I found a Pure Smoke kit from a Tobacco shop for $50. That was decent, but flavor was, well, there wasn't any. Then I found this forum, and ordered a Vapor4Life kit. They have a great kit with great flavors for someone who still needs the cigarette shape... Bear in mind All of this happened in the first month of me vaping. After a couple weeks with the V4L kit, I realized I HATED running back and forth to the charger every 3 hours, and I got into the modding scene, so I used homemade mods with significantly increased battery life. At about the 2.5 month mark I made a variable voltage mod, and at about 3 months I got a Provari and haven't looked back.

3 Years ago I started with a 510 pure smoke kit bought from a regular tobacco store. That lasted me about 2 weeks and I got fed up with it. I went back to analogs for another year. New Years came around again and I drove the 2 & 1/2 hours to the nearest brick and mortar ecig shop and bought a penstyle 901? (I think) with an extra battery and refillable cartridges. That lasted about 3 months. I hated the polyfil in the carts and refilling them, During this time my sister sent a 5v box mod and that was my wow moment. But I wasn't mentally ready to give up the analogs. September of this year I went to PA to visit that wonderful sister and brother-in-law. She had just got her new vv joker, and had a couple of egos, and a chuck. She let me use the chuck the whole time I was there and then let me bring it home. I hadn't set out to quit but it was working so I got serious about it and came to EFC and started researching. Now I have a Provari / Big Daddy tank, all kinds of attys for dripping, The Chuck, and a 5v box mod that all get used. There is a learning curve but I am enjoying it alot more this time. Waiting til after Christmas to try a Reo.

Good Luck Everyone and Remember Every Vape is One Step Farther Away From Analogs,
Wicked

years ago I bought a kit from china a co-worker had one and I wanted to try it, it was crap. I didn't think about vaping again untill 2010 when I bought a xl 510 manual, a t-rex and a E9 a week later I bought a missy wet box because I couldn't get a Reo mini and a big kazoo, a few weeks after that I bought a 5v missy wetbox because I still could get a Reo. A month after that I finally got a Reo, then I went on a Reo kick untill my 1 year vape-iversary rolled around and I bought a provari to celebrate, I sold off all but 1 Reo grand and bought a Krimson Krescendo and another provari, now that VV is my thing I'll probably buy a darwin a VVPV a vv Reo becasue I still like a feeder mods and maybe a lavatube

I started with the convenience store crap Mystic. Bleh.

Then I got a 510 starter kit. Good, but the battery life was crap.

I now run ego 650 passthroughs. This battery coupled to the resurrector carto gives me everything I need.

I think that anyone starting on a budget should get this battery and carto.

I'll probably get a VV mod eventualy. Meh. No rush.
