So apparently the system I'm using is low end compared to some of these other pv systems out there such as the the house of hybrids products. I'm using an ego tank system. What are some suggestions if I wanted to go MUCH higher quality then the ego tank system. I don't care about the size of the unit but I don't like the cigarette looking ones. Sorry my lingo is not very good yet. And lets assume that cost does not matter when making these suggestions. Thanks guys.

I would suggest that you make that decision based on your vaping preferences. Look into subjects like VV , mechanic devices,
Box Mods and so forth. Since you are looking at "high end" devices there is a danger that you might get one which does no fit you needs and you spend some "high end" money untl you have found what you like.

Hope you find yours soon:)

Never let anyone put down your vaping choices. Your money, your preference, your call. That said, if you have an Ego-T now, you can cheaply try many variants on your current setup, without immediately throwing down $200. Your current battery will accept 510 cartos (you may want low resistance ones for the Ego batt), CE2 tanks or "regular" 510 atomizers, all of which can be scored on the cheap. And all of which offer a substantially different vaping experience. There's a ton of cool stuff out there. And once you find a 'delivery method' (carto/atty/tank/CE2/etc)that you love, you'll be in a better (more informed) position to make your big purchases. At least, it MIGHT help...or it might just make you want one of everything.

Agree with post above.

Spend sometime playing before leaping. There are loads of fun toys out there but don't get bedazzled.

They all do the same sort of job as your Ego. Some change the voltage, some change the way juice is delivered but at the end of the day it is about delivering a charge to a device that vaporizes liquid.

Errmm same as your Ego.

Never listed to anyone that demeans another device that is keeping someone away from cigs. It is doing it's job.

Take your time they all have merits. One will make more sense than the others.

I went with a more expensive option and am astoundingly happy with my choices. Hopefully others are too with theirs.

I totally agree with this post. I have a kgo and an ego pt, but I've also been trying lots of other goodies on these batteries. I've promised myself a reward at the 6 month mark. Maybe a vv, but maybe just more things to go with what is already working for me.

If you've only been using the standard tank with your eGo, you definitely should explore some of the other juice delivery devices. Try some different 510 type cartomizers, clearomizers and tanks. If none of them hit the spot for you, you'll be in a much better position to choose where to go to upgrade. There are only 2 weak points in wht you are using. One is the tank system, and the other is the relatively low voltage. Both can be overcome easily and inexpensively by choosing the right device to use on your eGo. Then, if you want something that will deliver more voltage, or use separate batteries or be more reliable or whatever, you'll know what direction to look. And, if you get a 510 device, you can still use most or all of the stuff you bought for the eGo.

Excellent suggestions above, because the more you know about the ground you're standing on, the better prepared you'll be to explore new ground. If you haven't already done so, my first suggestion would be to get a few good dripping atomizers in resistances from about 1.7 - 2.5 Ohms, along with drip tips to fit them, and an assortment of liquid samples from several different companies. While testing out new flavors & vendors you'll also become more familiar with things you like & dislike about your PV. In other words, this is a great time to play & learn all you can about where you are & what works there.

Best of luck, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Welcome to vaping. You mention HOH, why not get a Zenesis when Zen~ release more of them. If it impresses you, go for it! There is a bit of a learning curve, but Zen~ made videos to make it pretty simple and teach you what you need to know. There's also the HOH thread on this forum. There are many people like myself there that are happy to help.

Didn't even know they made different tanks for this Lol. I have a clearomizer which I like a little better the the tanks. It doesn't leak and has a good hit with lots of vapor. I've got alot of juice for many vendors.

So a stronger hit requires a larger battery? The ohms, volts, resistance and what not are a bit confusing still.

Would love something that holds a decent bit of juice. That's a little easier to refill then the clearomizer that doesn't leak. If that exists.

Glad I asked here before dumping a .... load of money.

I'm right there with ya Sir_Die.
I'm also wondering about this. I have an ego-t also and a switchback. both have lower voltage I guess? so before me and Sir_Die upgrade our egos I guess we need to know what type of attys, tanks etc the ego can actually handle.

A stronger hit depends on a few things. The juice, the voltage, the resistance and the particular carto or whatever you're using. By "larger battery", if you mean larger capacity, then not necessarily. You have a regulated battery. The voltage holds steady at 3.4V from right off the charger to cutoff. An unregulated battery will start at about 4.2 volts and gradually decrease in voltage. So a larger capacity unregulated battery will stay at the higher voltage longer than a smaller one. That doesn't really enter the picture with a regulated battery like yours.

You can use any kind of clearomizer or tank that fits a 510 connection with an eGo. My personal favorite clearomizer is the Fluxomizer. It still takes a needle tipped bottle or a syringe to fill, but other than that, it's fiddle free and absolutely does not leak. The vivi nova tanks look like they're going to be really great when they get the next version shipped. Right now, they're having problems with the replaceable heads on them. Some people are having good luck with them and some not so much. They are impressive, especially for the price. They might be worth the gamble at $15 with 3 interchangeable coil heads.

Here's the easy way to deal with ohms, volts, and whats, errr... I mean watts.
First thing to remember is Watts = Heat. The more watts, the more heat, the warmer the vape and the more vapor, and vice-versa.
Second thing is that too many watts and the vapor is harsh and lighter flavors get washed out and burnt tasting.

Most people like their vape between about 6 and 10 watts, depending on the juice and their own preferences in warmth.

So, here's how to figure out what you'll need to hit your sweet spot. It's a very simple formula:

Volts X Volts / ohms = Watts. Ohms is the number representing the resistance of your carto or atty or whatever.

Your battery puts out 3.4V, so...

3.4 x 3.4 / 2 = 5.8 Watts. That's a tad cool. If you lower the resistance, you'll get more watts/heat.
3.4 x 3.4 / 1.7 = 6.8 Watts. Much better. Some people are o.k. with that, but let's try it with a 1.5ohm carto.
3.4 x 3.4 / 1.5 = 7.7 Watts. That's about as warm as you're going to get with a 3.4V battery.

You might have heard of 1.5ohm dual coils. Although the total resistance is 1.5ohms, they are really two 3ohm coils inside one cartomizer. So what you have is:

3.4 x 3.4 / 3 = 3.85 Watts. That sucks, but you have it twice. Once for each coil. 2 x sucks = doublesucks.

That's why you never want to use a Dual Coil cartomizer in a lower voltage battery. You really need at least 4 volts or more.

So, I hope that clears up some confusion about volts, resistance and watt not.

Your Switchback has a regular lithium 3.7V battery, right? So your watts are going to be different than with the ego. You can use the same formula and substitute 3.7 for 3.4V and see the difference it makes. It's also unregulated, so when it comes off the charger, it will be closer to 4.2V. The 3.7V is a nominal voltage. It stays at 3.7 longer than it does at any of the higher voltages. That's why it vapes so good when the battery is freshly charged, then hits a plateau for a while, then starts getting weaker as the battery drains and the voltage starts dropping below 3.7V.

The eGo and the Switchback can handle the same cartos, tanks, etc. It's just a matter of what resistance to get. They'll all work on either device, but they'll be warmer and use more watts on the Switchback, at least until it's voltage drops to the same 3.4V of the eGo.

kinda surprising considering how massive it is!
here's what vapor beast has to say:
"NOTE: This device is designed for use with 2.2 ohm or greater BOGE cartomizers."
thats what comes with it too so I haven't tried anything else. its.....ok. think I probably could have put that 50 bucks towards a better APV though. it was a ooooohhh shiny moment.... I have lots of those. my avatar is me looking through the "show your setup" thread haha.

also whats your take on the longer 1000mAh ego battery. I'm thinking about it...

Freaking awesome. That really cleared it up. Thanks for that. Now I know what to look for.

Sorry if it seems like I'm highjacking your thread man. I figured we have the same questions though. It's crazy how friendly people are on ECF. every other forum I'm on has such a clicky thing. they totally attack noobs. here its like hey welcome to the family!
